I don't carry a gun for the Taco Bell kind. I don't carry a gun for the guy who cut me off on the highway. I don't carry a gun for the person who says things about my Mother or uses the word Mother to address me.

I carry a gun, #1 because I can and have been trained to do so. #2 for the morally devoid person who is under the influence of whatever who attempts to use deadly force to harm my family, me, someone else or someone in the church I pastor. The use of deadly force is not arbitrary. It is for the RARE situation when someone's life depends on it. No apologies for my stand. I love God and carry a gun. I have people in our church who carry IN church during service. Some are law enforcement some are not. Our law enforcement agencies know we have concealed carry in our church and we have met with our local police to plan a strategy in the event of a "deadly force" crisis. They have applauded us for our forward thinking and stated that they wished more houses of worship would do the same.

God and guns....that's what I'm talkin' about! :D

Didn't David get Goliaths sword out of the temple when he needed a weapon?

I'll be VERY careful if I disagree with you. And if I attend your church or have a counseling session with you, I'll wear a bulletproof vest just in case.

"God & Guns". This is why American Christianity has virtually no influence with political liberals. Christianity is often more vocal about guns than the cross.

Nationwide, "unchurched" people have two major concerns: 1) How will the church deal with the gay community, and 2) Will the church try to make me a Republican. (from the book "They Like Jesus But Not The Church, by Dan Kimball....GREAT Book)

The "God & Guns" concept just reinforces their cynicism of the Church.

I will say that the sales manager did a decent job during the interview. He didn't really come off crazy. I would say their car lot used "Gods and guns" in their slogan simply because that is the target demographic in their area.

David was like a Muslim terrorist

51Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

52And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron.

53And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents.

54And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent.

We are not talking Geneva convention here.

Interesting.....I am also NOT a republican! I am a conservative independent.

It is the republicans who used and abused the Christian conservatives and it is the Christian conservatives who were naive enough to get suckered into it! That is what the republican party gets for exalting party over principles. :D

Re: God, Guns and IDIOT CNN Reporters!

I am doing very good. I have not threatened to shoot anybody for a year now. The last time was when the neighborhood worthless junkie stole my SIL's bicycle out of my garage. This guy breaks in peoples homes and steals video games, TV's etc. He stays in trouble with the cops but always manages to get out of jail. I recovered the bike from his home a couple of streets over and told his parents to tell him if he ever came back on my property he was going to get shot. His dad told me he didn't blame me.

I am going to have to pray more and be a better Christian to use incidents like that as an opportunity to witness. My instinct is to protect the sanctity of my home from invaders / thiefs.
