For Markus
I told Marietta the message you had for her. I told her that I had no idea who you really are but that her sphere of influence is far reaching. She asked me where I came in from. I told her Dallas. She said, "I still can't imagine anyone driving that far just to hear/see us". She is such a sweet and humble lady.

There was an AOG Pastor and pastor's wife behind me and he reached over and asked me if I knew them I said, "Yes." He asked me if they had changed. I said that Marietta hasn't. I felt good about saying that.

What doesn't kill you - makes you stronger. She is living proof of that.

Blessings, Rhoni

Sherri,

They gave away old 8 track tapes as a door prize - it was hilarious. And, yes Sharonica was and still is a "hoot"!

Some things change and others remain the same.

There were a few of us there and I sat there thinking... I wish the spirit and worship with the old songs we cut our teeth on could be delivered in our churches. Unfortunately we have no room for error, sin, or second chances within our ranks. How unlike Jesus this truly is.

Frankly, I find your comment not only preposterous, but insulting as well.

You really believe there's no grace and mercy in Apostolic churches?
Please, get real.

TR,

You are as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. If the shoe does not fit you - don't wear it..you'll get an ingrown toenail. I am real and that is what gets me in trouble most of the time. I have little tolerance for sucking-up. :girlytantrum

The shoe doesn't fit me, nor many of the apostolic churches I know of.

What you call "being real" is actually just making an unfair generalization about Apostolic churches as a whole.

No one is asking you to "suck up" to anyone.
It might be a good idea to be more fair-minded in your comments, though.

Peace.

Just like Peter and John, I can only speak from the things I have seen and heard. As I have been a recipient of the lack of forgiveness, restoration, and acceptance from many churches in many Apostolic circles...and I know as many or more than most; I do not think I am broad-brushing as much as I am speaking from experience and 40+ years of observations.

Blessings, Rhoni

If, as I've been made to understand, LW has never acknowledged, repented of, and openly renounced the the sin he was caught in ... then I have no problem with certain churches refusing to welcome him to come and "minister" before them.

If you consider that to be a lack of "grace and mercy" then so be it.

It is one thing when you are on a journey home.

Another when you walk around like your life has been blessed and anointed of God without blemish.

Rhoni I see you as the first.

LW as the second.

The problem continues when one is given the stage that put them in the place of power to have done certain things historically already in the past.

TR,

Just so you know...I agree that this is what I know to be so about Lanny. If you read my original post...I said he was entertaining...Marietta was ministering.

The one thing I will say as it relates to many of us...we do not know or see people from the inside out to know the level of repentance of Lanny or anyone else. For this reason, I leave that to God.

What I do know is that there are certain fruits of repentance that are obvious. I do not think we have to confess before the world, or even a priest, but if you are in a leadership or 'out front' position then the sin we are guilty of is out front and therefore the repentance needs to be right out front also.

By this I mean: Lanny was talking about the period of time when many televangelists and well known preachers were caught in sin. He named names. I thought it would have been appropriate to include himself in the mix, because it was like a back handed apology. Had he openly confessed his humanity then it would have been easier to extend him the grace and mercy. As it was, it appeared to be a justification or denial that he belonged in the group of fallen ministry of which I am a part.

You are not alone in thinking that he comes across as unrepentant or even denying a problem.

Don't mistake my comments for siding for or against anyone in his position. I will also say that I have been guilty of not forgiving or showing mercy myself, but I am trying much harder to leave the judging to God.

Sincerely, Rhoni
