Rhoni I see you as the first.

LW as the second.

The problem continues when one is given the stage that put them in the place of power to have done certain things historically already in the past.

Thank-you...that is how I see myself...forgiven and restored.

Blessings, Rhoni

Just so you know...I agree that this is what I know to be so about Lanny. If you read my original post...I said he was entertaining...Marietta was ministering.

The one thing I will say as it relates to many of us...we do not know or see people from the inside out to know the level of repentance of Lanny or anyone else. For this reason, I leave that to God.

What I do know is that there are certain fruits of repentance that are obvious. I do not think we have to confess before the world, or even a priest, but if you are in a leadership or 'out front' position then the sin we are guilty of is out front and therefore the repentence needs to be right out front also.

By this I mean: Lanny was talking about the period of time when many televangelists and well known preachers were caught in sin. He named names. I thought it would have been appropriate to include himself in the mix, because it was like a back handed apology. Had he openly confessed his humanity then it would have been easier to extend him the grace and mercy. As it was, it appeared to be a justification or denial that he belonged in the group of fallen ministry of which I am a part.

You are not alone in thinking that he comes across as unrepentant or even denying a problem.

Don't mistake my comments for siding for or against anyone in his position. I will also say that I have been guilty of not forgiving or showing mercy myself, but I am trying much harder to leave the judging to God.

Sincerely, Rhoni

Uh... how can you say they bolded part while at the same time being critical of those who won't place an unrepentant homosexual behind the pulpit?

I am confused.

Who are we to judge who or who isn't repentant? All I know is what I see and hear...but God knows the state of Lanny's heart.

And such were some of us...but we have been washed clean by repentance, baptism, and the covering of the blood of Jesus. His mercies are new every morning.

Your confusion is in the fact that we label some sins as unforgiveable or as worse than others. God forgives homsosexuals, pedophiles, adulterers, fornicators, murderers, liars, ect...

There is no confusion as to what God forgives - I have no doubt concerning that. (I do understand what you are saying)

When I said "repentant" I was not talking about the heart. I was talking about sin committed openly - which for a minister does require repentant confession to those churches and pulpits the sin effected.

Well, unless my mind fails me...the sin he committed was not at anyone's church or while he was in a pulpit...so I am not sure what you are talking about.

Anyone in the body of Christ who sins affects the health of the body as a whole, but I don't feel anyone has to be publically humiliated by confession to people in every church and in every pupit.

If some people had their way; a person would pay dearly the rest of their life and take a less honorable position as a token of the grace bestowed on them by ministering brothern and sistern :girlytantrum Far as I understand this isn't how the grace and mercy of God works.

Blessings, Rhoni

Exactly, Stephen.

She herself said "...if you are in a leadership or 'out front' position then the sin we are guilty of is out front and therefore the repentence needs to be right out front also."

Yet she claims that theres "no grace and mercy" in Apostolic churches that refuse to accept a man who's shown no public evidence of repentance.

I guess it makes sense to her. Not to me,though.

There are some sins that are so grievous that the person that has committed them, while in the 'service' of Christ, should voluntarily step down so as not to bring any more disgrace to the name of the Lord. His sin was public and not an isolated one time event.

I'm happy for those that went and enjoyed it.

I, for one, would lose my lunch if I had to go.

What's that line about not taking pleasure in them that do wrong?
