Re: Suggestion

I think the reason that, to Bro. Epley and others, the reason this place "feels less Apostolic" is simply because most of the die-hard conservatives no longer post. So of course it feels a little different. The dynamics have changed a little bit.

The only way to combat that is to get more conservatives posting again. :)

It seems that many conservatives don't really like discussion of the issues, they only like people that agree with them. Which I find unfortunate. If your beliefs are correct, you should have no problem defending them. I come from a strong conservative background, and I find it disappointing that so many conservatives simply fling out insults, or take their toys and go home. If conservatism is correct, you have to spread the doctrine.

I'm very much in a questioning stage, but I truly want to be right with God. If the way I am headed is wrong, I truly want to know it. Whether anyone believes that or not, it's true. I believe that most everyone on this forum truly wants to be right with God, and is open to learning.

I admire Bro. Epley for hanging around. :) He's not one who is afraid to stand up for what he believes. If conservatism is right, they need more like him. :)

It's not liked anybody has REALLY left the forum anyway. They just aren't allowed to log in. :thumbsup

Mark - you gonna be ok, buddy? That was a big risk you took just to log in and post. :lol

How can you be a light if you aren't in the dark sometimes?

I know of a pastor who says that he won't associate with someone who has less 'standards' than he does.

So my question: does he associate with those whose 'standards' are greater than his?!

And what if they made the same statement as he?!

When will we ever stop measuring ourselves against ourselves?!

When will people realize that it isn't the person that we are fighting against.

People are against...

Preterists... ISTS... that means people. Be against preterism if you want to... but love preterISTS.

Same goes for...

Baptists
Methodists
Pentecostals
Dispensationalists

Hold on to your Holy Ghost now...

Even...

Athiests
Muslims
Zionists

Fight error... stand for truth... but never forget that your target is not allowed to be people.

...and agnostic deist quasi-Christians?

Many won't ever stop doing that. That's one of the reasons I skip reading so many of the threads here. It's all been argued about so much, that it's just gotten really old-- I've seen it so many times I could quote some people from memory. My time is better spent doing something that will make a difference.... like giving my spare time to help do stuff for my church.

Sad to say we have an eternal babyhood in Pentecost...Always fussing and fighting...We are to fight for the RIGHT but even in this fight we do not have to lower ourselves to sling mud...

I still think we are blessed to have a forum where we can discuss issues, doctrines and even personal convictions however how we discuss them proves the spirit that is inside us...

Jesus once told some that they knew NOT what spirit there were of...

We can be right and still be wrong....
