This is neat. I like the bag idea that says "He lives."

I am honestly a little bemused.

I had no idea there was any controversy over all this until I got on old FCF.

The AMF church I grew up in had egg hunts every Easter for the kids. We thought nothing of it.

Of course, I grew up in an area where there were NO Catholics. We were just ignorant, I guess.

If it were an offensive issue to our people, I would stop it in a minute. It certainly insn't important to me.

We don't have any bunnies or any decorations like that...we just hide plastic eggs with stuff in them. Get a lot of neighborhood kids to come, and I tell them the story of the Death, Burial, and Resurrection.

Y'all pray for me...I didn't realize what a travesty I was allowing. :)

Will do brother...

I'm not saying I will pray that you see things one way or another... but that God speak to you what HE would have YOU do...

I will say this on the point of what was done years ago... We had a haunted house in our church decades ago (UPC) when I was a kid. But there is no way we would do that now. We had a person in a casket, a severed head, peeled grapes for eyeballs etc... Never thought a thing about it.

But... as I said... you will be in my prayers for the sole purpose that you would, not just in this but in all things, continue to be always able to know and walk in what is the will of God for you, your family and your church family at large.

Blessings

I honestly would never mock or ridicule anyone's convictions along these lines.

I wouldn't ever do the haunted house thing either. Too clear a connection with what many, many people in society associate with evil.

Yes sir... that is appreciated. Would that more people could be so kind.

I have, over the last decade or so, been "cured" of what once was a propensity to ridicule others who didn't see things my way. I am thankful for a God granted ability to fellowship with brethren of like precious faith who don't see every detail the way I do.

The haunted house thing was over 30 years ago... a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.

The big thing is that we all be able to show a common respect for one another despite any differences we may have on issues such as this.

This sounds much like the way the church we attend celebrates.

The last couple of years, there has been a drama, the little children's

choir singing (so cute in their little suits and fluffy dresses, etc.)

and then a "treasure hunt" and hidden in little boxes, etc. are prize

numbers. This year there are four shiny, new bicycles displayed and

someone will go away with a new bike. Two boys and two girls.

There is also individually wrapped candy hidden in the treasure hunt

(no chocolate), melts in the morning sun!:winkgrin

Blessings,

We used to have a hunt but not for eggs but we hid empty tombs. But now we have an egg hunt every year the Saturday before Easter at a local park and open it up to everyone. This is only the 3rd (i think) year doing it and it will be my first taking my daughter so I really don't know how many show up for it.

It was to me also. I didn't have anything to do with it - it was probably about 5-6 years ago when they did it. It was kinda neat though, it gave the kids something fun to do while tying it to the Easter story.
