I have no idea what really was the story behing TC and LW.

All I now it was a bit of we don't ask we don't tell.

I would have to say this is a post I don't really like the flavor of. It is my opinion that Bro. Craft is a humble man and he knows his capabilities and limitations. He makes it a point to surround himself with others who excell in areas he lacks.

As far as JCM...there were times he trusted and loved too much. I can't quite fault him on that because I have issues about not trusting many and locking the love up so it doesn't make me vulnerable.

You have to know that he was in a precarious position and without actual facts and eye-witness accounts you cannot accuse such a high-profile person as LW.

If Bro. Craft erred it was on the side of love and I will never fault him on that.

Blessings, Rhoni

Just wanted to state again that I do not appreciate others casting doubts on the character of my friend, co-worker, and previous Pastor.

I owe a lot to LW. Without his burden to bring Apostolics up a notch musically, I wouldn't be where I am today!

Folks who know him, know that his real passion was education. Yes, he wrote songs and traveled with his group, but they were to help finance his true burden, and that was as music dean of JCM. LW had ample opportunities to leave Apostolics behind and persue fame and fortune in gospel music.

I am personal friends with Larry Dalton, who was music diector at Oral Roberts University during the time LW was in Jackson. Their TV show featured LW's song, "Greater is He" in the opening of every broadcast.

Larry told me that LW turned them down on several occasions to be a guest on their show. The reason? Bro. Craft told him not to, because it could look bad on JCM! LW submitted to Bro. Craft!

That being said, I am aware of the other side of the coin!

Is it possible to be thankful and disgusted at the same time? :D

Good post Pianoperson. I have the same mixed emotions and evaluation of LW. It is not right when folks ignore all of the positive about him just as it is wrong when folks ignore the bad.

I'll bet it's impossible for some to find anything good about him........

CC1,

I think it must be human nature for us to be this way, BUT one thing I know...God isn't like that and that is not how he weighs and measures. The more I try not to be judgemental the more judgemental attitudes I find in myself.

I will keep my truth to myself.

Just ask this question?

Why did my dad leave Jackson after 1 year?

No more offense or statements will come from me.

I do not want to offend.

I haven't really followed this thread, but I saw this and wanted to respond.

I have pretty much the same response to someone who was very influential in my life in my teenage years. He was my choir leader and Sunday school teacher, and most of all, my mentor. I received a lot of valuable input from him during those years, he made a big impact on my life.

Years later, he decided to release himself from the "bondage" he was under, and he now pastors an "alternative lifestyle" church.

I however, cannot allow myself to negate all of the good he did in my life, regardless of what his current choices are, I will always love him for his part in my development.

So, I think that I understand exactly what you are saying!

Doing good is not the same as being of good character. There are tons of examples all over the place. Probably one of the reason Ted Kennedy can get re-elected over and over....because he does some good for the folks of his State while not many would want to vouch for his character. Character flaws and being a sinner does not proclude folks from telling the truth or doing good deeds. But just telling the truth or doing good deeds does not equate to salvation.
