Disagreement on issues and conversation over them between people is a good thing. it will bring clarity.

At leastr you will know whaere you and the other guy stand.

Long as you don't mind standing on the outside looking in. ;-)

Excellent points.

Oooooohhh.. I made up a new Browserism. (That is what I call my little sayings... I am known as Browser8 on several other forums)

"The notion that questioning is bad is the mindset of a set mind."

BTW, any leader, religious or not - wants his inner circle to conform to his ideology. Otherwise you're not a follower - you're just disgruntled.

Best thing is for you to find a place where you can comfortably conform, cause scripturally you are to "obey them that have the rule over you".

Whoops, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bring the bible into this. :sad

Pastor,

Of course its not. I'm not real excited about the whole "inner circle" comment. We are all sojourners and the family of God. As it was for me 6th months ago if you didn't agree wholeheartedly you were ignored and not worthy of service. There was and still is an "inner circle" there and quite frankly with the number leaving that assembly reaching towards 50 in the last 5 years I would say that teaching "My way or the highway" is a horrible way to grow a church. In fact maybe we should all consider the difference in growing a church as opposed to growing a congregation.

I spoke to haarshly in the post in which you a reffering. Sometimes I have a problem with that.

Pastor you are right, the church I'm in now is not the way I painted it. But as you know for the time being we still must walk on eggshells. Why? Ultra conservatism and a controlling nature.

I love you brother. I hope you don't take offense at my ramblings.

Not at all. :highfive

The "inner circle" comment (that I posted) has merit. There are varying degrees of responsibility depending on your level of leadership. To whom much is given, much is required.

BTW, never apologize for how you feel. You have every right to express your opinion on this forum, and to your pastor. I know that, as a pastor, I appreciate constructive discussions that lead to closer pastor/saint relationships.

Do you truly believe that the scripture you quoted extends to issues such as this where the Bible not only doesn't say anything against it... but even gives some instructino that would lean towards it?

My short answer is this:

Submit, or remove. :dunno

We never need to be even perceived as rebellious.

LOL! :killinme

You understand what I meant, right?

Kutless knows me (outside of the forum). I do not want him to think I am trying to censor him in any way. He is a very bright guy with a love for souls.
