Actually, I've heard people make that argument before. They say the government uses the threat of taking away the tax exempt status to keep preachers from using the pulpit for political reasons. Doesn't seem to stop some preachers though. Where there's a will there is a way!

Reminds me of the pastor I had during the Bush/Gore campaign battle. He never actually endorsed either candidate. He did, however, say, "If things go the wrong way, it could get pretty gorey. I'm hoping God sets another bush on fire!" Pretty slick, huh? :lol

Sounds about right Rico.

Pastors are notorious for being bad money managers; we have fought hard to prove this wrong.

Been there, done that, and ain't gonna do it again! I believe the ministry needs to lead by example. If the church isn't generating enough income for the pastor to keep the water on, keep his phone on, keep the electricity on, make his house payment, keep gas in his car, stay off foodstamps and other forms of governmental support, THEN HE NEEDS TO GO OUT AND GET A JOB! Ya heard me?

I'm more concerned about what the minimum is right now... is there a minimum? I think I'm below it if there is... my work is volenteer...

I don't think a Jag is too much car to drive, I drive a 40K pick up. If I drove a car I'd buy an S Type Jag.

AS for being a bad witness, that's in the eye of the beholder. My daddy owns the cattle on a thousand hills and the gold in the hills also.

What about Britney, fidity-cent, foo-daddy and Paris? They don't care what you think of their lifestyles.

Most church people don't even understand what God has provided for His chidren. They mostly have a poverty image. Poverty is one of the curses of the law. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law.

Not bragging but my giving is directly proportional to my lifestyle.

I drive a Harley, it's a lot more expensive than a Jap bike. I don't think it's to much though. It's like being baptized in Jesus Name, it's all in the name...

Well, my Jag is not new by any means, but it's nice and it's fun. Mine is an X-type Vanden Plas, black and sleek. I hope it runs for ten more years!!

Maybe you should try sticking to the rules. Many times a joke is taken seriously and insults.That's why it's a sin.

Eph.5
[1] Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
[2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
[3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
[4] Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
[5] For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

The X is the little jag.
