Re: What would you do?
These pictures made me cry. I think God looks on the heart and knows that she would be baptized in the typical way if it were at all possible. I think when we get in trouble is when we reject what we know. God is just and I believe that He smiled down on you today as you did the best that you could.

Re: What would you do?
Very touching!
I am sure that there are a few reading this thread thinking there is no hope for this woman, but these are the same ones to send someone to hell for showing any skin above the knee or elbows as well...... Thankfully these men are VERY small next to God Himself. |
Re: What would you do?
Sister,
I remember when we had a missionary from the Phillipines come to our church, and he had pictures of baptisms they had conducted. I was shocked to see people being baptized in children's wading pools they were not deep enough for then to be completely submersed. I believe in complete submersion, and began to think I was supporting false obedience. The missionary told me it was all they had and certainly all they could afford. I looked toward our nice baptistry and felt guilty. Knowing your spirit and the spirit of your husband, I place this precious lady in the hands of a just and sovereign God. I will continue to do as I believe I should, every chance I get, and pray for a portion (at least) of the burden you feel everyday... On another note, I have baptized people in straight-back chairs, who were carried into the baptistry by others, as they were unable to walk. I have helped baptize a person in a jacuzzi in a catholic hospital, and have baptized in swimming pools, and in lakes and rivers. I especially remember baptizing four people in a lake in January one year. The temperature was 34 degrees, with freezing rain falling, at midnight. No one got sick, and I can honestly say the water did not feel cold. My God is real...... |
Re: What would you do?
Oh God bless you Sister Alvear, I believe you did exactly the right thing. Thank you Jesus for the hope that lies ahead for this dear lady. The hope that she will see you face to face. What a great baptism this must have been Sister Alvear. Wish I could have been there.

I wish everyone of you could have been here with me today...

Re: What would you do?
Very touching thread.
Once againa reminder that it is the shed blood of Christ that saves through our faith in the same, and not out ability to perfectly simulate Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. |

Re: What would you do?
That was beautiful Sis. A. I think Romans 4:17 comes into play here. Thanks for sharing. I think God smiles when he sees these things.:friend
