Corinth,

I found information about a health study that actually links caffeine (without exercise) to weight gain.

The site has links to sites that give conflicting information about caffeine.

As with any medical advice you get from friend or stranger, talk to your doctor for the real skinny.

My mom did that when she was pregnant with me. (maybe that's what's wrong with me today)

I used to have a headache if I missed coffee first thing in the morning. Once the headache came, it wouldn't go away even with coffee/caffeine. A couple of times I went through withdrawal "cold turkey" but later went back to caffeine.

In September 1995 I had quadruple bypass surgery. In the hospital I suffered through the withdrawal from caffeine. My cardiologist told me to avoid caffeine and I have ever since. Let me qualify that. I do not drink coffee, tea or soft drinks that have caffeine but I do eat chocolate so I probably still get some caffeine that way.
