It is a good thing my pastor already knows that I'm an idiot so when someone complains to him about me there are no surprises!!!!

This has been publicly referenced numerous times--I finally called it.

I knew about it before any agreements were ever made. A friend who knew he had gone overboard with some comments in jest asked me for advice on how to mend the fence.

So my knowledge of the matter does not constitute a broken agreement on the part of the other party. He has kept his word.

'I actually encouraged him to address this here, but he refrained because of his own pledge not to reference it or mention it.

The other party has scrupulously kept his end, even in the face of several comments like the one here.

If you want to have this discussion, we can.

I know what ground I am standing on.

No, I think he was aware of it before the decision was made not to discuss it any further.

Just my take on the conversation. :)

It's all good.

It was a valuable lesson to learn.

Coonskinner had nothing to do with it, and is a man of high integrity.

Now, the other guy?

I've heard he did the same thing to others that he supposedly "made right" with me.

All true, with the exception of the "in jest" part.

Bless You St. Mark for making a place of confession for the irritable and impatient! :D

This is probably better left alone. I was online when it happened, and was the one to confront the friend.

Mark,

Does it appear to you that I have gone anywhere?

I will admit that I have enjoyed the forum more at some times than I have lately.

Attitudes and directions ebb and flow, but it appears to me that this one is taking a pretty good swing in a direction I don't personally prefer.

That is fine. You won't see me complaining and whining about it. I won't raise a fuss and create drama. When I don't enjoy it, I just drift on downstream.

Will I cut my participation down? Probably. I don't want to be involved in a bunch of drama.

No hard feelings though.

what direction is that?? most of the far left and went with Dan A. most of the far right wont post here anymore so I'm kind of lost as to what you mean. Looks to me like everyone is creating their own camps - It's not going to make for very interesting forum discussion in my opinion. BTW,I know that the new forum has what most would consider liberal too.

I would hate to see you cut back on participating, but I can completely understand the not wanting to be involved in a bunch of drama.

Just make sure that either you or Toof send me a PM with the dates for that revival in March. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

Most preachers are well aware they are just preachers.. men in fact.
They are, however, in positions that not everyone is in. They deal with issues that not everyone has laid on their shoulders.

That comment was unpleasant and untrue.

I like AFF and I like the new forum. One for apostolics to fellowship and one for apostolic preachers. I think we need both of them.

Just preachers???

What does Scripture say? That these men are worth of double honour and respect. So you ought to think about that before you describe them as "just" anything. They've been called and chosen to a very serious calling, purpose and responsibility that the average person cannot begin to understand.

I'll excuse the comment to unintended ignorance on your part.

Careful - - that's what they are calling themselves - - the name of the forum is justpreachers.com

Yes, but they're using 'just' in the sense of 'exclusively' preachers. Not "just" preachers in the sense that they aren't more important than anybody else or that they shouldn't be given a position of respect and honour.

There's no higher calling.

Actually it says
1Ti 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.

I teach bible studies....how many sunday school teachers that never thump behind a pulpit will be there? Or elders?

I was invited and I don't hold a licence... I teach Bible studies and my husband preached and will again one day I'm sure.
But I think the purpose, my friend, is to keep those who would come in and stir up things making it an unpleasant place, from coming in. .

That, to me, makes a whole pile of sense. Preachers, Pastors, all deal with junk every day. If they want a forum where they can just hang with some others in their profession.. they deserve it.

Some days when I read posts on here, I wonder if that isn't the way to go. But then I'd miss the fellowship I get here most days.. in spite of the negative

And yes, elders, those who labor in preaching and teaching are due honor. I think that jaded eyes have a hard time seeing past the man to the preacher nowadays. We've been hurt too many times. But God knows there are still many many Good men who are worthy of esteem and honor and respect.

Well... I've seen it on both sides I have to say.

But be that as it may...

All I can say is it's easy to be jaded about preachers... but they should be able to have their own forum. I just can't see anything at all wrong with it. There are many many forums out there. I think the only reason it's an issue, is because some are people who were once (or still are) posters here.

I think if I were a preacher/pastor... I'd never name myself on a public forum.
Incognito is the way to go :)

I don't know what all the jaded stuff is...I was just asking some obvious questions to which I don't think I've gotten an answer..

BTW should non-preachers be able to have their own forum? Also, I didn't say anything was wrong with it....I just asked some questions
