Re: Who's Who on AFF
An honest assessment of Fred…Sans the Atlas references….
I have been Fred on these Apostolic Internet forums for several years. I arrived at FaithChildForum within days of the passing of that forums owner. I knew Jim in real life but it was his passing that brought me in contact with these forums. I post occasionally on GNC. I was active on NewFaithChildForum (though not from the beginning) and started there as Tiberius Pantera with a bit of a chip on my shoulder. I am a fifth generation Apostolic, from a church that has produced countless preachers including a General Superintendent, at least one District Superintendent, bible school teachers, presbyters multiple general Board members of the UPCI. I am a moderate, have always been a moderate and my home church has always been moderate. These days on AFF it seems I am among the most conservative that still posts here. I believe the Water Spirit doctrine, though I believe the UPCI ought to make room for both the old PCI view as well as the W/S view. I believe in the doctrines of Holiness, Separation, and Sanctification, though I do not believe these are part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are teachings that saved people accept as part of what we are. That does not mean I believe everyone ought to live their lives by my set of rules. I am a political conservative and I don’t mind the label Neo-Con either. These days you are more likely to see me sparing with some political liberal than you will see me engaged in doctrinal exchanges. It seems the doctrinal area has become dominated by those with an agenda of deconstruction of all things traditional Oneness Apostolic. I am married to a beautiful lady named Mrs. Ferd (she doesn’t post here). I have one son (Toddler Ferd) he doesn’t post here either. And another son (baby Ferd2) will be with us on or about July 21. Toddler Ferd came to us on Christmas day 2004. He was 6 weeks early and we were visiting family in Louisiana at the time! We ended up in Lake Charles La. For 2 weeks with him in the NICU but God blessed us and we were able to stay in the Hospital for free the entire time! We came back to Dallas and promptly found out that the little guy had a heart condition and we ended up at Cooks Children in Fort Worth Cardiac ICU for another 2 weeks. By the time he was 2 months old he had spent one month in the hospital. We did EKGs daily for weeks, weekly for months and by the time he was 9 months old, we received a clean bill of health! God is faithful and healed my son of a terrible condition that caused his heart to race over 300 beats per minute. Well, there you go. Now you know everything worth knowing about the poster commonly known as Ferd. |

I was UPC from the time I was about 14 years old (at that point I got kicked out the Swanton Missionary Church for going to First Apostolic Church in Toledo on Sunday evenings). I stayed UPC until I met my husband and we got married (when I was 30! GASP!) I knew there was no way in the world that Walt would consider a Pentecostal Church of any sort. He's very reserved so it would made him very, very uncomfortable. About that time some things had happened in the local UPC church as well that made it easy for me to decide to leave and start attending church with Walt. We married and went to the local Methodist Church for the next almost 20 years. That was a HUGE stretch for me and I learned a great deal over those years. Not about doctrine or things like that. What I learned, I learned from God. After all those years in the Methodist church, they sent us a pastor who was doing some VERY crooked things! Seriously! I was in the position of Administrative Council Chairperson and my husband was on the Board of Trustees. We finally decided that these were things that we did NOT want to be implicated in the middle of. So we left. It was not an easy decision, especially for Walt, but we've never been sorry we did it :) We decided to start visiting some churches in our town and just see where we fit in the best and felt the Lord wanted us. The first church we visited was the CMA church and then we never went to any other. We fell in love with the people that first Sunday and put down firm roots in short, short order. We've been there for about 5 years now. They recently learned they are getting a new pastor at the Methodist church. We've had people calling to ask if we would come back now. But our answer is a very firm "no". We loved it that first Sunday and we love it still. So that's the long and short of it. By the way, there are NO Pentecostal churches in our town. The nearest church would be a half hour drive away from us. I want my boys involved in their church youth group. That would be much too far away for them to be involved. And besides, the UPC church I'm talking about has absolutely no youth :( |

Re: Who's Who on AFF
Hello, I live in Southeast Texas and I am a former Mormon. I was born and raised in the Mormon church. Left the Mormon church ended up a drug head and an alcoholic. Met a guy that was a UPC backslider. Lived in sin for about 7 years when I found out I was pregnant. I knew I didn't want my child to have the life I ended up in. So when I starting talking about church he said there was no way him or our baby was going to be a Mormon, so we ended up at Bro. Doug White's church in SETx. in 2005 when our little girl turned 8 mths. old. After going about 5 times he prayed back through and 1 week later when Hurricane Rita hit I got the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus' name. We immediately got married and we still attend church faithfully. My husband is a young minister in the church. And I also have a wonderful son! God is great!!!
