Re: This Is Why Non-Christians Hate Us
Wonderful story from Beliefnet ...
Source Evidently the Haitians haven't heard that they supposedly signed the pact with the devil ... they're over there praising God on the streets in tattered clothes while Pat Robertson sits in his million dollar studio wearing expensive clothes talking about the earthquake being God's judgement against them. Like Job did, the Haitians are saying, "The LORD gave me what I had, and the LORD has taken it away. Praise the name of the LORD!" (NLT) We all could learn a lesson from these precious people. |

but people in Lake Charles, La didn't make any pack with the devil....(Rita) It rains on the just as well as the unjust, blessing or cursing. Some people want to say, Global warming, I say if we don't praise God the rocks will cry out. The Bibles says: Luke 21:10 (The Message) 10-11He went on, "Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Huge earthquakes will occur in various places. There will be famines. You'll think at times that the very sky is falling. and... Matthew 24:7-8 (New International Version) 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains. |
Re: This Is Why Non-Christians Hate Us
I have close family members who believe what Robertson said about Haiti.
They had already heard and repeated it, a long time ago. I have heard it too, just not recently, until Robertson. I thought it was true before. Even if it was true, the Grace of God is available for those folks and God doesn't purposely judge the rightoeus with the wicked. So the earthquake in my mind is not connected to that deal with the devil-- a deal that the Haitians alive today did not make. Some times bad things happen and people suffer and die. God's not arbitrary. I don't understand Him. I still trust Him and it's good to know that so many Haitians are trusting Him, despite their problems. |
Re: This Is Why Non-Christians Hate Us
So.... the earthquake was a result of God's judgement. I wonder... is that the reason some Holy Ghost filled, Jesus name Haitians who love God are laying under a pile of rubble right now? Not to mention the innocent infants who never made a pact with the devil? What about the Pentecostal preacher that died there- who was there feeding and caring for the hungry and poor- whats God gonna say to them..."Opps...my bad!". What about the 18 or 20 Americans (or more) that died there (and those of other nations who didn't make a pact with the devil)? God was mad at them for just being there? ("Sorry, wrong place, wrong time!")
The earthquake happened because of earths natural laws. Period. Plate tetonics. (NOTE to Pat Robertson.... quit blaming God for what happens in nature. And Pat, if you ask for one dime to send to Haiti, you are a hypocrite of the highest order!) |

OA is more Apostolical than DA will ever be. Seriously... the following should be posted in BIG LETTERS at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of EVERY religious program on radio, TV and the Net: "The views and opinions expressed by the host and/or guest of this program are their OWN views and opinions and are not necessarily shared and/or endorsed by the Christian world in general." Mmmmm... "Apostolical" The United Apostolical Church. Sounds good. |
