The "gap" is okay though.

There is a "gap" that Jesus and Paul spoke of, that the prophet may not have been addressing.

Here is the "gap" that must be addressed by us today......

Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Romans 11:25 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

I think this is saying that when the last Gentile comes in(rapture), then the Lord will return to Israel. It simply has not happened yet.

Those that teach the "gap" concept, view these verses as part of the equation of the times of the Church age also.

Please tell me when this gap started? Just when did God turn from the Jews, and turn to the Gentiles?

And what is the criteria that the last Gentile comes in? When millions of new births happen everyday, what kind of a God choses a point in time to take a certain number out of the world, and condemn the rest to hell?

That is so strange Sean, there is nothing to study out. I mean after all it should be pretty clear to you since you read scripture literally.

I mean literally speaking, what does this verse say?

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Forget about the rest of the verses for now and just give me what this one verse is saying.

Going on, how do you read into these two passaged a gap? A gap in what?

You seem to say that the time of the Gentiles has been the period of time between Jerusalem's destruction, and today when Israel became a nation. But the only time frame we have of Gentiles treading Jerusalem is for three and a half years. Rev. 11:2 which is exactly the amount of time Rome laid siege to the city, from 67-70ad.

Trivia for you to think about, you may not know. Jesus was not a Jew, he was an Israelite. Study that one out.

But back to your gap, you say the gap refers to the church age. Just what is the church age, and where did we get that idea?
Who and what was the church from the beginning? The Gentiles? NO the Gentiles were added to the church, they were never THE church.

Here is my take on it Loren,,,,,,

Jesus came in "70 weeks".....Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity.....

Then the church age started, which is a PRE-MILLENNIAL experience!!!(gap starts)

The end of the verse... and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy....is yet to happen upon the 2nd coming of Christ.

That is where the 2000 year "gap" comes in, Loren.

Re: Scoffers on AFF

Everlasting righteousness is ushered in at the start of the 1000 year Millennial....

Matt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
