Most people say God didn't really tell Deanna Laney to kill her children. Some people (like me, e.g.) also say God didn't really tell Abraham to kill his son.

Deanna Laney was acquitted, by the way. Insane. Andrea Yates, on the other hand, was convicted of capital murder. But it was the devil that gave her the command, not God, so that's a whole different matter. (I guess?)
