Michael, where do you congregate again? Who is your pastor?

Are you saying Ananias and Saphira were not a judgement of God?

Is he still involved in the affairs of men? Do you have something that says God won't judge mankind in the NT?

Only asking...

Look carefully at what I'm saying, Jeff. I'm talking about the way that "THEY" are going to see this. The sceptics, that are already turned off by the judgmental attitude of many Christians, will just chalk this up to another bigotry by Christians.

This is true.

Yeah, it's also true that God isn't like this. But try telling that to someone who has seen this, who has focused on this, who sees nothing else.

Any idea what it's like to walk a path to a God you view like this? It's not cool. It's way not cool.

Why do Christians insist on feeding a world in need an image of God that's so hateful?

I think most non-Christians are intelligent enough to realizle Pat does not represent all Christians, they choose to ignore such truth for what ever reason.

Not all Muslims are in league with Osama Bin Laden and I think most folks are intelligent enough to realize that but many choose not to for whatever reason.

Now, it "could" be true, but how would we know? It's easy after the fact to point fingers. But bad things happen to good people and there are a lot of Good people there doing a good work for the Lord

The Judgements of God in the bible were deliberate, forewarned off and were for the purpose of either wiping out evil entirely or bringing people to repentance. Here is the question, what happened (if it did) happened a long time ago. Can anyone say right now the nation was entirely evil?

Who was the prophet that warned them?

Not only does a statement like that turn off non-Christians, it often turns the stomachs of Christians as well. The supposed pact with the devil took place in 1711, almost 300 years ago. I could venture to guess that none of the people involved in any such pact (if it actually took place) were still alive in 2010.

But Prax is right in stating that we realize Robertson doesn't speak for all Christians, or even most.

Just like it turns the stomachs of Jews who are told that the curse of Matthew 27:24-25, is the reason for every misfortune they had throughout history.

Why would someone make a statement of condemnation like that? Is it pride, horrible misunderstanding, or something else?

Indeed. :thumbsup
