(referring to going onto television). We spent all that money, and didn't win anybody...I'll tell you those TV producers are just a bunch of crooks out to get your money...I wish we'd never did it."
Too bad they chose to be a test case, what happended to their church - once a great revival church - as a result is sad.

I find this exraordinarily hard to believe. I was a member of KP's church for 16 years.
This sounds like either an outright untruth or one of those famous situations where things get twisted around from what was originally said.
I can't tell you the number of times during the 16+ years I was in Austin that I would go to another state to visit UPC friends or relatives and here the wildest things about my church and pastor. None of which were true.
Has KP had disappointments in his efforts in the TV ministry? Aabsolutely!
Have they won people to the Lord and made an impact on the world? Absolutely!!
Was it to the degree that he had hoped for? Absolutely not.
Your supposed quote attritubted to WP sounds like all of the other stuff I have heard for years about how he supposedly says he wants to go back to legalism, yada, yada, yada. I have heard that for 15 years now and if it is true why hasn't he preached Promiseland back to bundage?
