After reading these testiomonies you can see why his son at to get up in the pulpit and ask folks NOT to ask his father for money. He would give more than he could afford to give.

He is very giving. Has sold his cars to go on mission trips. I think finally someone gave him a car and put it in his sons name to keep him from being able to sell it.

He is priceless. Not one streak of greed in the man. :)

Bishop Kilgore is an incredible man.

He spoke at my graduation banquet several years ago. Very much a gentleman, very kind and gracious. I appreciate the example he set forth, not just by his words and messages, but by the way he has lived life.

This is what I mean when I talk nostalgically about the UPCI. The years we spent in ministry were awesome. We were blessed and favoured is all I can say. And we were/are nobodies, understand? But we were treated like royalty. The fellowship was second to none.

And people wonder why I have a hard time letting go of that? It's not hard to undertand really. :nah

You dont have to let go.

What are you saying? Her husband left the UPC.. How is she supposed to *not* let go?

I'm not UPCI ,but I recognize Elder Kilgore as a great Christian, who is most worthy to represent Christianity.

that doesn't mean she can't enjoy good relationships with UPC people, and continue to be appreciative of her roots and the womb that birthed her, ILG.

There really is no cosmic rule demanding that everyone who leaves the UPC has to trash it and blather on and on about how abusive and unloving and awful it is.:choir

He took care of us in absolutely top quality fashion. And who would expect otherwise?
  • Put us up in a beautiful hotel.
  • Gave us his own Lincoln to drive.
  • Increased our PIM support
  • Contributed a large amount of $$$ to the project monies we were raising at the time.
  • Gave us 5 offerings - one of them for me personally and one also for each of our children. They've never forgotten this! :)

More than that, later when my dad was having open heart surgery, he paid my ticket home and back.

The man is just quality through and through and it shines out and through him for all to see.

With all the put downs we see, it's great to see a post like this.
