Will she go to hell for having her hair cut?

She asked the hospital to save her hair, and it is in a bag by her bed. Can she be saved if she carries the bag of cut hair with her wherever she goes? Will she still have the power of the angels?

I believe I know the answer, but I'm curious how the hard-liners reconcile this!

WOW I have Chiari and I had the surgery in 2002

I hope your mom is doing better

I have been getting bad headaches back and hoping I dont have to go through it again

My mother had a brain tumor removed and they, of course, had to shave an area of her head. For us UC people, please don't assume that just because we believe it is wrong, don't think we are ignorant. I believe it is a sin from what I read in the Word. When a woman cuts her hair, it is an act of rebellion. Again, I'm not arguing or debating it here because that is not what PM wanted to know. He has his view! No, of course she is not going to hell because of this. We aren't as ignorant and closeminded as some would like to make us out to be. God is a wonderful God! God will not judge her for something like this. And for anyone who thinks God would, well, um.....:ouch ya need help!

I pray all is well. My mother's hair grew back very quick and it's longer than ever! God sees her heart!!!!!!!!!!

Amen, I believe the same.

I will pray for your mother PM. But I refuse to waste the keystrokes to defend an ignorant notion that we somehow believe she is now lost.

I see that it is a scar, but at first it looked like a short pony tail.
Very Jedi'ish. :)

We're hoping that as her hair grows back, she can cover the scar that will remain! :)

I have not read this entire thread, but I had pastor explain to me ( years ago when my hair caught fire from a candle- Its a long story!!!!) that is like cleaning up after a disaster. Some things that are out of your control and it is not a sin. It made sense then.

I completely understand the frustration that caused you to start this thread. A couple of short weeks ago I started a similar one after a very nice couple from my wifes old church were in a car accident and my wifes old Sunday school (and current Elem school teacher) died. It was a horrible snow day and no one should have been out on the road but because of the all-important doctrine of never canceling a service combined with the rule of always being there when the door is open, they tried to go.
It was a good funeral (as funerals go) but as I predicted, there wasn't an ounce of guilt from the pastor or anyone else.... it was all "The Lord decided to call her home" platitudes.

Yes, we often speak of hypothetical situations until we are faced with the real thing and suddenly we see that certain assumptions have no real foundation.
(After re-reading this post, that last line will probably only make sense to Pianoman -and myself.)

She got piercings in her neck too??? How far will she go now that she's shaved half her head????

:D Just kidding.

Seriously though, I know that hurts, both physically and emotionally. You should post a better pic of her though. I'm sure she'd like that better!!!
