What this thread is not about:

This thread is not to discount or reflect on anyone who goes to the doctor.

I thank God for the good things doctors have done to assist or aid in
the caring of some of my own family, children, grandchildren, siblings, etc.

Man is limited and can do what humanity can do. God is not limited and can
do what Deity can. Great things can happen when God works in and through
man to accomplish His Will and His Plan.

God, manifesting Himself through man accomplished the Salvation Plan. But
God must give the "Orders". Jesus told his disciples that he only said and did
what the Father (Spirit, Deity) said or did.
Oh, that sons would have that kind of reverence for their fathers today. And
fathers would set a godly example that sons could look up to them. This also
applies to mothers and daughters.

What this thread is about is some (partial) history of our family. Past!
History!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.

Blessings,

Falla39

I'm sure it is. Bro, Schambach was an Associate of A. A. Allen in the 50's who launched his own ministry in 1958. His "Hour of Deliverance" was heard on radio staions all over the country in the 60's and 70's. He always closed his broadcast with the words, "This is Bro. Schambach reminding you, you don't have any trouble, all you need is faith in God!"

He'd still in the ministry though I'm sure he's in his 80's now. www.schambach.org

I remember as a 12 or 13 year old kid taking my little transistor radio to bed with me, crawling under my covers with my pillow over my head and keeping my radio down as low as I possibly could, trying to see if I could tune in stations from as far away as possible. VERY often I would tune in to a station from somewhere in the south where someone named RW Schambach would teach from the Word of God. I always stayed tuned to that when I could find it. Learned soooooo much from him!

I TOTALLY agree! And am thrilled beyond measure to see them say it. But this is not something I would have expected to see even 2 or 3 years ago. Don't get me wrong. I love this church and think the world of the the pastor.

Maybe I was stunned because I talked with someone else today who goes to a UPC church where the pastor recently said from the pulpit that they are not holding a hard line on standards anymore. (don't ask me who or where, because I will not say). Again, I am not upset about that. Just very, very surprised! Things have changed alot in the last 20 years, haven't they! (for the better, if you ask me :) )

Who? Where?

"Someone named RW Schambach..." LOL. I liked old Bro. Schambach. He made it a point once (more than 30 years ago) to call out the local UPC I attended at the time as being ... I forget, "a bad church?" I forget the exact term he used. Apparently we weren't Trinitarian or something.

He was in town and actually preaching from a tent and on the radio. Later, Oral Roberts came to town and set up the same tent in an AoG Church's parking lot.

I mean no disrespect, but I think when extravagant claims are made - particularly in the context of "church was better back then" - then it's fair to question the claims being made.

BeenThinking was certainly polite in the way he asked the question.

I'm old enough to remember the voices of three generations of Apostolic "old timers" now. They all said, "we had more 'miracles' a way back yonder..." Even the younger elders said that when it became their turn to reminisce; and that despite the fact that their elders had bewailed the "compromise" and "worldly cares" of that generation.

Are we positive that Theophil and Apprehended are not the same person?

LOL

Thanks pelathais. Wasn't trying to offend anyone. I've heard my share of preachers "speaking evangelistically" in my time and as far as I'm concerned the subject here is too important to "speak evangelistically!" And I kinda wonder about those who get so upset when someone ask about this. I am glad to hear the acceptance on AFF of Bro. A. A. Allen and Bro. Shambach and the miracles that occurred in their ministry.
And to those who seemed to forget my mentioning the lady in Fort Worth that had cancer and was healed some 45 years ago, have you heard of Sis Osteen, Joel's mom who was healed many years ago of terminal cancer. I believe in it! Just don't like to see it used to promote some man as he counts all of his miracles.

God bless you all. It's late and I'm shutting down for the night...I think!

So, Bro Schambach was/is of the AOG churches? Never knew that I guess.

I never knew where RW Schambach stood on the God-head. That was before my days in the apostolic church, so to me that was never even an issue. I was just a 13-14 year old kid thrilled because #1: I could pull in a radio station from so far away with my little transistor radio and #2: I was so hungry for anything about the Lord that finding some good teaching that late at night was pure food for my soul :)
