Believe me, we've won a NUMBER of folks who were "steeped in bondage and sin." However, we didn't have to go IN the bar, brothel, OR crack house to win them.

Thank you for clearing that up!:tease

If it passes I will advertise as much as humanly possible on it. I will use it just like I do radio, newspaper, and all other forms of advertising. It is my intent to reach my community. I can't sit back and hope they stumble across the truth some day. I full intend to obey the Great Commission's command to "Go" to them.

Would you want your church to advertise in a pop-up window on a porn site?

What I'm getting at is this -- are there ANY limits as to how far you'll go to "win a soul?" Will you do drugs WITH them? Will you watch filth WITH them? Will you tell dirty jokes WITH them? Or, are there boundaries you have set at which point you say, "I won't go THAT far"?

I don't know. Are there any sinners there? Did Jesus go where the sinners were?

I have a cousin who is an unsual person. I really don't know if she claims to have the Holy Ghost anymore or not. But she frequents bars but never drinks. She will drink anything from mild to water, but never alcohol. She has won dozens and dozens of people out of the bars who are now in churches that she will not even attend. She tells those drunks about Jesus, his saving love and the power of the Holy Ghost to live a life free from sin. The drunks are drawn to her but she sends them to church where they experience what she has told them about.

I don't think that I could ever do that, and certainly I would never suggest anyone else to try it, but neither have I won so many people as she, witnessing one-on-one in bars. Are those souls less valuable in the KOG than a good saint knocking on doors. Are the souls won by T.V. advertising less value than those souls won by good saints knocking on doors?

Let me ask you this sir..."If a soul come to the bleeding side of Calvary to have his sins cleansed by that crimson fountain, even if it cost a church money and some reputation, what kind of money would it take to buy that one soul back from Jesus? How much money would Jesus have to have to surrender that soul back?

Like I said above, sometimes I waver in my opinion, but I cannot give any logical reason for not reaching into the muck and mire, not sparing a fine reputation.

Committing sin with sinners is not a consideration, nor shall it ever be.

You are welcome!

We will obviously have two very opposite responses if it passes. You will use it. I, on the other hand, will not pay my dues again. I will join the ranks of the GIB (Good Independent Brethren).

Understand that this is not a threat of "If you don't play by my rules, I'll take my toys and go home." I was licensed in the UPCI AFTER they defeated the use of television in the 1970's. I KNEW coming in that they had taken this stand. If they reverse this stand, THEY will have CHANGED the rules. In other words, they will have left me, not vice-versa.

The porn site? Probably not... but maybe... I mean, I don't have to go visit it so... and again... it's HIGHLY unlikely that even if I got the wild hair to approach the porn site management about placing a pop up ad on their site, that they'd even allow me to so... this is really a pretty ridiculous hypothetical situation.

And if you think I'm going to partake in dirty jokes, and watch the filth with them, etc, well.... I guess our conversation is over, because you're not giving me any benefit of the doubt.

Have a nice day, friend.

I was not accusing you of being willing to do these things. I was trying to make a point. You obviously have a line you will not cross in order to "reach the lost." So do I. Your line and my line are set at two different points. However, you should not condemn me as not caring for the lost just because I set my line farther away from your boundaries than you like.

Bubba, I never condemend you for anything. Can you point to where I did?

Stay behind your line. If it sooths your conscience, more power to ya.

It doesn't have one bit of effect on what I do or think.

You're an eye. I'm an ear. We're both needed to the Body.

Are the people that you win any less valuable to God than the ones I may be able to reach? Or vice versa?

Pentecostals go to the bars all the time; it's called Applebees, Chili's, Bennigans, Texas Roadhouse, ad infinitum.

It's OK for Pentecostals to go into some bars... According to the modern thinking it's only a "bar" if the word "grill" doesn't appear after it.

Example:

Joe's Corner Bar = Bad :stop

Joe's Olde Tyme Bar & Grill = Great, see you there! :thumbsup
