Perhaps the wrong question has been asked.

Does it matter if others deem you able to wear the label Apolstolic.

I wonder how God sees us? I wonder if He doesn't care more about how we show Him to others than a label?

At the end of the day, I consider myself a Christian. I don't care about the other labels. I just hope I reflect God's love, mercy and changing power in how I represent Him in my daily life, my character, my walk with Him and my actions.

The rest is pointless.

Great Post! My son was asking me what religion we call ourselves. I immediately said pentecostal. My husband told our son that it doesn't matter what you call yourself but it does matter that you are a Christian and that you live a Christian life. The more I have thought about what my husband's response was, the more I no longer want to label myself with a religious label.

This will become more and more true as the US enters this post-Christian era.
When agnostics and non-Christian religions will be commonplace.

This is the devil best yet, to get one to think they can change the inward man through dress, as a sign they are righteous before God and man, Sorry Gods not shallow, nor is He fooled ! You preach another gospel another way, other then Christ!

Your so far off the path it's not even funny~ Now once again give proof of bible to back up were it teaches such a thing as dress is salvation, give text .... If it's there this should be easy........

The only ones with a good vibe of an apostolics are self proclaimed apostolics. My observation has been substantiated across the the country. At least one poster who admitted to conservative leanings admitted to a similar situation. Jim Yohe documented a similar situation in his book Believer's Bootcamp.

I promise as soon as someone outside the Sacred Circle of the Self Righteous tells me their definition of apostolic lines up with your definition of apostolic, I will post it.

As far as the wal-mart comment is concerned, speaking from a legalistic view, a view you feel the most comfortable with, you did not say Wal-mart employees were stupid. However you left a lot of insinuations that a person who thinks of an apostolic as a legalist is ignornat. It was only a matter of time before you trod that old familiar path of self righteous superiority by lumping wal-mart employees into a sub superior cast of people because they don't buy into your dillusion.

.

There is no reason to question the validity of the initial post. It is universal, and it is documented.

One again I beseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech thee by the mercies of God, to stop trying to find loopholes because there aren't any. The entire board is familiar with the legalistic tactic of attack and divert. The facts are the world doesn't buy your illusion. I get the feeling you would rather dance around the issue like a ballet dancer in a biker bar than address the issue.

This morning I had breakfast with a brother that walks at a local walking track every morning. He told me about an incident that happened this morning.

There are two older guys that walk at the same track and one of them wasn't there this morning so my friend, the Apostolic brother, was walking with the old gent and as they talked the old man said "I figure you must be a Christian because I don't ever see you wearing short pants and a tank top".

What the World Sees as Apostolic.

It just depends whose world you are living in.

Why would this surprise you? He said Christan, not Apostolic, all Christan have standards, the difference is most don't believe or teach them as salvation, nor built a whole doctoring out of, heaven/hell~

Thank you for this heart warming testimony.:highfive

tv1a 05-23-2007 10:07 PM

The topic is how the lost defines apostolics. Don't try to bait and switch. The topic is how the world defines apostolic. Your post says what an elderly gentleman definition of a CHRISTIAN.

What the world sees as apostolic is different than your dillusion.

Nice try. How about tackling the subject instead of trying to change the topic while appearing to say the same thing. THere is a reason you can't use the word apostolic in your story, because the story would be a fabrication if you did. Instead you attempt to slide in the word christian and hope to pray we are dumb enough to think the elderly gentleman meant apostolic.

Back to the drawing board. Thank God you are not a lawyer...

So far every one of your post shows I'm not the one living in Never Never Land.

Cupcake, His goal was to redefine the arugument by change one word. Sort of like the strategy Satan used against Even in the Garden of Eden. You hit the nail on the head.

As you can see, I yet to get an answer, or a scripture to this so called outward teaching of dress, Gods one and only true sign that someone belongs to Him, before all mankind. Nor have they shown proof that the bible teaches it as salvations, heaven/ hell. In fact they have dance around this for two years now, yet can't bring forth info......;)

Not good to add or take from Gods perfect grace and Agape (Jesus) ~

Yes they really do preach another gospel, another way unto Jesus, other then by grace, as Jesus and his apostles taught ~

Yep~ Agree, their methodologies may work on a newbie in Christ, but some of us been in this for over 23 years, sixteen as a lic UPC pastor. So please already, we know the trick words, the twisting of details and scripture to read as truth, even if it's untruth , and by passing the subject.... Yes I too play their game once~ It's called power and control through means of fear, a hard thing to give up~

I like the line in the Ozzy Osbourne song I heard last week... So MANY religions, only ONE God. I don't need ANOTHER savior.

This song comes to play~

Precious Lyrics & Video
Depeche Mode

Precious and fragile things
Need special handling
My God what have we done to You?

We always try to share
The tenderest of care
Now look what we have put You through

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for you

If God has a master plan
That only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words have got spoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

I pray you learn to trust
Have faith in both of us
And keep room in your hearts for two

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

It's frustrating, but not frustrating enough to allow them to goad you into getting a little vacation. So far we've exposed the following tactics.
1. Belittle the person with an opposing observation.
2. Insinuate the facts presented are not the norm. (In spite of the evidence which suggests the sample provided with the original post and other stories that followed were an accurate synoposis of what the world thinks of the apostolic label.
3. Try to prove your point by changing the wording.

I don't know how Old Paths expectes to bruise the head of the serpent when he is tiptoeing through the tulips on this topic.

Amen to all of the above..

rrford ~ Instead of answering the subject, he feel the need to warn others about me. If by chance they agree with me, he make sure to tell them something wrong with their walk in truth. Please, even I give the folks around here more creditably then rrford does. I'm surprise he not warn other who agree with Rhoni, they'll turn into man haters....;)

Either give a specific post where I have done this or delete it please. It's called an untruth and a mischaracterization and needs to be removed. Thank you.
