The only reason they don't look like the mormon ladies is because the pentecostal women buy really expensive dresses and shoes (which I think Peter speaks of this also). However, for the majority of the women the hair and dress are the same as the women.

I have actually seen people confuse pentecostals with the FLDS (and it was because of the similarity of the women).

So it is about time the Pentecostal fundametalist come out from among them and be seperate....

You might be a legalist if you expect people to be saved BEFORE they can attend church!

You might be a legalist if what people wear is of more concern than what is in their heart.

Where is the contradiction? I said we are already holy. Perfecting it does not remove nor contradict that fact. You cannot perfect something that does not exist already. It did not say CREATE holiness in the fear of God, you know. lol

So let me add...

You might be a legalist if...

...you think 2 Cor 7:1 means CREATE HOLINESS. :ursofunny

The garments mentioned in the below referenced scripture, these garments were assigned to priest for the purpose of recognition as God's chosen.

Exodus 28:2- And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Our clothing should distinguish our position within the kingdom of God. Understanding our position as a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, our appearance should reflect distinction and holiness.

There are two methods of identifying a hooker, her surroundings and appearance. Who do you and your congregants identify with? How much distinction is there between Hollywood or a hooker and your daughter/children/family/saints?

Quite an awful lot thank you very much.

And, I don't follow the whole clothesline teaching thing.

I have yet to find someone posting scripture that shows how differently Jesus and His disciples dressed compared to the other men of their day.

In addition, nobody has ever shown scripture where Paul preached to the women about looking different than sinner women of their day either! Not one example where anyone changed their wardrobe after being saved!

Pro 7:10

"And, behold, there met him a woman with the ATTIRE OF AN HARLOT, and SUBTIL OF HEART."

With the harlot you have the outside look and the inward thought.

Even the sinners got it right, but try getting an ex-holiness Pentecostal to believe that.

No one has said what you claim in your above post. We just say it has to be both. Oh I notice that you have Mr. Gene Edwards as your signature. You know Gene doesn't believe that the church should have pastors, who collect tithes and offerings, or that a congregation should have to pay to heat a church building? I wonder how welcome any of his followers would be in your church? I bet they wouldn't get into the family album.

As usual, that is where you are dead wrong about us. Followers of Bro. Gene would be very welcome @ NLC....just like everyone else. They would be just as welcome as YOU would be. I would hug your neck and introduce you to our congregation if you were visit. I wonder if you would the extend the same to me if I were to show up in my shorts at your place? :D

(Truthfully, I would not wear shorts to your place out of respect)
