I'll take soul winning techniques from the Alexandra anytime.

Alexandria has always excelled at soulwinning and prayer. Granted, they have their share of 'move ins' but they also have a steady flow of new converts that know nothing about Apostolics at all except from POA.

I was born into a Classical Pentecostal Church and Family and have been to a lot of places and seen lots of faces - but I remain a Classical Pentecostal. To call me or others REPROBATE because we left your denomination shows how immature you are.

When you are sitting in that DEAD CHURCH - that should be labeled a FUNERAL HOME - think of the good time we are having with the HAMMOND B3.
Some of you are deader than the Baptist around here!

TAKE THAT SIGN DOWN THAT SAYS PENTECOSTAL - and most of you are NOT UNITED anyway - FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

Hey ATL,

even though you have left the mother ship :slaphappy
we Hammond Brothers have to stick together lest our dearly beloved instrument go into extinction status :happydance

I agree with much of what you are saying. I have never seen so many dead pentecostal churches the last few years in my life. They spend most of their time deciding who is REALLY in the spirit and who is in the flesh. That's one reason I think people are scared to worship. they are in fear that their motives will be judged at every turn.

what I really don' get is how we condemn the charismatics yet so many of our churches are trying to copy their worship! can someone explain that one to me????? These days, some of our churches even scoff and make fun of churches that shout but it's okay to copy willowcreek- go figure!

ATL, you are actually a rarity. most folks that left Acts238 also turn their back on Old fashioned worship too. If we could ever fuse spirit and truth together, we'd be going places !!

I'm the one who first started this, and I NEVER disrespected anyone nor did I "disrespect" lively worship and praise (however one would do that). You read what you wanted into it.

But, it's odd that both you and NYLP never ONCE commented on the POSSIBILITY that music has taken over as the LEADER in praise and the focus is getting less and less about the ONE to whom the praise is SUPPOSED TO BE lifted. NYLP totally dismissed my challenge to him to sit back and watch one Sunday night, too. Would you take the challenge, and would you shut your instruments down in the middle of a rip-roaring, snortin', buckin' "praise" session just to see what the "praisers" would do?

There is NO preaching on that video, so here's more proof of your erroneous accusations. And my comments about him laying hands on people was about how it "looks" like he is assisting them -- ala Benny Hinn -- to the floor. I have NEVER.........NOT ONCE.........seen Bro. Anthony Mangun being followed around by a group of "catchers"! HAVE YOU? I've never seen any follow Bro. Tenney, Bro. Haney, my pastor or any other anointed man of God. You got an explanation why he (and the evangelist I mentioned), like Benny Hinn, needs them following him?

You're so blind, my friend. I NEVER started "chewing" on POA. You just simply chose to not read my thread to NYLP about my feelings about that church and its leadership. You're too busy formulating your own arguments.

When you're ready to honestly read my posts about this, let me know. Until then, you can keep ranting and raving like a mad man about things NO ONE has even said!! :rolleyes2

I've seen plenty of people Bash Music Till they they was able to obtain the very thing that they tore down.

People often say derogatory things about things they are jealous over.

I've lived and I know it's true- their is tremendous jealousy and competitiveness in the ministry by and large

It is possible you don't understand the biblical concept of worship. The instruments were just as important to the worship as the people. It hacks me that many people think the musicians must hold back on their instruments yet expect the non-instrumental worshippers to give it their all.

The attitude displayed with opinions like the one below is what kept Micah, David's wife from having children. She ridiculed a king who danced in his underwear before the Lord and God cursed her womb.

jshorts,

I'm seriously NOT getting that mentality from OGIA's post... especially the last one! It would appear to me that he's saying that sometimes we can rely too much on the music to get things going.

He's a big boy and can correct me if I'm wrong. I also didn't get that he was taking a pot shot at POA or its leadership. The statement seemed pretty cut and dry to me: would we have the same involvement of worship if it wasn't for the music.

Hey, I love music... I play 8 different instruments and my drummer used to play for Kirk Franklin before we got him saved (:winkgrin ) so music is important to us. But not as important as truth in our preaching.

I have no problem telling you that I love music. Good music. Slow music. Shouting music. I love it all. My only problem with your posts is the recurrent anti-UPC theme.

I do feel that you have misunderstood me - but I will try and do better!
Thanks for the admonition!
