Re: Confess your sin, UPCI!
... and notice:
I did not say that REAL salvation in Jesus Christ is unavailable. |

Tongues is another language. I know people who have understood the language of another - Hebrew and Spanish. So, yes, it is the same as in Acts 2:4. |

Oh and one other thing, until a person speaks in a known language then Acts 2:4 is most certainly a describing a much different experience than the one currently had by most pentecostals... |

Can you give me evidence of someone who spoke in a language that they had never learned as "the Spirit gave the utterance" and this speech was understood by a native speaker as their own native tongue? Real evidence. Real evidence of Acts 2:4-8, happening today or at any point in the last 111 years since Agnes Ozman was said to have "spoken in the Chinese tongue for 2 hours..." which many in the room with her denied ever happened, and then she denied it, and then she said it was real, sort of... but maybe not Chinese... maybe "something" .... she doesn't know. A Church of Christ minister challenged me for that when I was a young man; now I am old and I still have never found any evidence that I could take back to him. Nothing. So how can we demand this as "the evidence of salvation" when we don't have a scrap of evidence that it has ever happened outside of the Day of Pentecost and Acts 10? Ever. According to the "Three Stepper" creed - we don't have evidence that anyone has ever been saved! |

The Church of Christ don't even believe in having music, who cares what he thinks about the book of Acts? LOL! I can't believe we are having this conversation on an Apostolic Forum. It just totally blows my mind. I suppose a totally English speaking church is not going to understand another language when someone speaks in tongues that is not English. Good grief. LOL! I personally know a woman that was speaking in tongues, a family was visiting and understood her every word. She was telling them how to be saved. They repented, were baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost - the whole family. That was pretty awesome! Who cares about one person - Agnes Ozman? LOL! Good grief. Do you speak in tongues? Do you believe people speak in tongues today? |
