I would have liked to have gone to hear Kenneth Phillips preach. Bad timing for me though even though Evansville is only a few hours away.

I must say, I am surprised that he would be fellowshipping with the Divine Flesh advocates. I'm just wondering, is there any donctrine that is off limits? just curious. I didn't understand the seriousness of it till my brother explained it to recently. I didn't know it was that bad. no wonder UPC had to make a decision

I don't know the story there. I do know that he is so focused on Acts 2:38, Oneness, and especially Jesus name water baptism that he may not have thoroughly gotten into the DFD.

Or perhaps he has and believes it. Or perhaps he doesn't see it as something big enough to be a point of fellowship.

Frankly I have not studied it enough to know if it is for me or not. As I have stated in the past I don't think ou have to have a perfect understanding of the godhead and the nature of Christ to be a Christian and to be saved.

Frankly I think none of us understand it all fully.

I don't pin this on you personally CC, I'm just wondering how some of the ones who don't believe in it feel like it is not something that we should part ways on.

basically, what I was told is it's an old doctrine called gnostism(sp?).
Bro Seagraves wrote a booklet and broke it down showing how it is false.
The Bible says that jesus was born of a Woman. somehow they do not believe this scripture. They believe something supernatural happend and he was given a special Flesh from heaven. They do not believe he was truely of Mary.

There is one thing that we all MUST believe and that is that Jesus was 100% flesh and 100 God%.

I john 4-1 3 says if you don't believe he has come in the flesh you'll die in your sins.

I do not know if this is what they believe or not. I do not trust many UPC folks to present others views accurately after seeing them demonize trinitarians as tritheistic over the years and "believeing another God" nonsense.

I have heard KP preach for many years and I can assure you he believes in the virgin birth of Jesus so I have to think your description of what the DFD people believe is not accurately depicted here. Not your fault, I just don't think you probably have had time to study it out just as I have not.
