Stay behind your line. If it sooths your conscience, more power to ya.

It doesn't have one bit of effect on what I do or think.

You're an eye. I'm an ear. We're both needed to the Body.

Are the people that you win any less valuable to God than the ones I may be able to reach? Or vice versa?

Man, I just can't win. You keep reading something into my posts that I never intended to say. Again, I wasn't accusing YOU of condemning me (although, reading back through my post, I can see where you thought that). I was actually making a general statement -- those who are FOR TV should not accuse those who are AGAINST of not caring for the lost. Again, I didn't mean you specifically.

And those against tv ministry should not accuse those for it of compromising, sinfulness and rebellion.

Well... looks like we both need to leanr to communicate better.

Lord knows I need to. (I can't even type or spell right... lol)

Anyway... I don't see it as 'not caring'. I see it as maybe just not doing everything they could. Not using all the tools they have at their disposal effectively.

Let 'em stick to tracts if they want... let 'em stick to door knockin'... but for them to CONDEMN those who are willing or able to use TV as a method of trying to reach people is just as stupid as the TV proponents condemning those who don't choose to go that route.

We will obviously have two very opposite responses if it passes. You will use it. I, on the other hand, will not pay my dues again. I will join the ranks of the GIB (Good Independent Brethren).

Understand that this is not a threat of "If you don't play by my rules, I'll take my toys and go home." I was licensed in the UPCI AFTER they defeated the use of television in the 1970's. I KNEW coming in that they had taken this stand. If they reverse this stand, THEY will have CHANGED the rules. In other words, they will have left me, not vice-versa.

Speechless ....

I wish they'd all just stop bickering about the issue, make some decisions and finally get on with their lives... and with the work of the Kingdom... instead of fighting amongst themselves over this.

But by default that is truely what you are saying. If you really believe each UPC church should be and is autonomous then a different view on this should matter little to you. To the public there will be no difference whatsoever in how they veiw you or your church. You are still conservative OP whether that is via UPC, XYZ or GIB.

SDG 05-10-2007 09:23 PM

Of course ... that's what he's saying SH ....

Proposing and voting on resolutions ..... are the rules .... to complain that the rules have changed is a blatant disregard to 'the rule of law'.
