Mich, honestly, I think the admin have been great.

For instance, they let a lot of UPC bashing threads stay when the opening premise of AFF totally opposed that junk.

I've not read any of her books.

Shunning is a punishment and shame technique used a lot and quite successfully in cultures other than our North American one.

But if it weren't for the "UPC bashing threads" and the anti-standards threads, the conservatives would have nothing to do, but sit around and pat each other on the back and talk about how holy and righteous they are. Ok, that way sounded meaner than I meant it, I just meant, what would there be to discuss if they were all in agreement? Loud ties versus muted ties? Which is more appropriate for preaching?
