You might need to read Proverbs 6:2!

You are snared - entrapped by the words of your mouth, You are incarcerated and imprisoned by the words that you say.

You might need a check up from the neck up!

The continual decline of the dollar is the biggest threat to the U.S. and to oil prices, and a culture of overspending is the heart of the problem within the financial sector of the country. That is according to Dr. Micheal Kurth, professor of economics at McNeese State University.

You guys can disagree all you want but there are far too many preachers and churchgoers contributing to this culture of overspending. :roseglasses

Apparently you haven't read the entire thread. There are many ministers who are indenpendently wealthy without taking a dime from their church. Some made it in real estate, some in farming, some from inheiritance, some from wise investments, etc. These same men have built great churches full of people who love and respect them. Of course I will defend them.

I have NO problem with preachers being independantly wealthy so long as they are not flaunting and flashing it (on purpose)
in front of a church full of poor and middle class members. Like the ones who preach everyone to hell and then arrive in St john suits?

One of the big secrets amongst the ministry is, a lot of old timers were very wealthy. I can think of 2 of our pioneers in CA.
that were quite wealthy but they pretty much lived within the means of their church.

Other oldtimers never saved a dime, Always thought the rapture would take place before they got old and
ended up being a burden to their families.

The ones that got wealthy from investments without taking a dime...do you mean they got rich before becoming pastors?

That's great...after becoming Pastors do they accept donations and tithe from the flock and keep it for personal use or do they redirect it to others who are not rich and in dire need of financial help?

Jas 2:5 Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

Some of the ones I know, were making big money before becoming pastors. One pastor who I know very well, was a contractor and a saint who received a call to ministry. He continued his contractor business and went to a city, built a church, won people to the Lord, and every dollar that came into the church whether tithe or offerings, stayed in the church accounts and paid for a second new building. He has never taken any monies from the church which now runs about 300 people. Everything the church does, they pay cash and are not in debt for anything. This pastor has poured his own blood, sweat, tears, and many dollars, into his church. He is a highly respected UPCI minister.
