Can somone breakdown what ONE step and THREE step?

Just wanting someone to breakdown for me WITH scripture what ONE step and THREE step is. Always like to learn new things (and uh, I also want to see if I am a ONE step or THREE stepper). Thanks.

Both the 1 & 3 step "camps" believe in Ac. 2:38.

The 1 step camp maintains that one is rapture ready at repentance, 1st step, but still must be water baptized and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The 3 step camp maintains that one is only rapture ready after the completion of the 3 steps, repentance, water baptism and receiving the HGB speaking with tongues.

The above is a summary only and there a number of iterations of each "camp." :D

Or you can be like me and be a no stepper. And I believe you must obey Acts 2:38.

WOW. Thanks! You would have thought there would have been 20 pages on this topic by now with all the opinions this message board has to offer. Never the less, I now understand.

However, my only question for the 1 step is, if you are rapture ready at repentance (step 1), why MUST you then continue on to steps 2 and 3?????????? Or does this 1 step view only accomadate people that are on their death beds, sorta like "death bed salvation" where you repent and then die and now one is rapture ready......hmmmmmmm.

"step 2, and 3" naturally follow step one. Most here would agree that what is important is obediance to Ac. 2:38 regardless if it is one step or 3.

"rapture ready" There are many of us who do not believe in the rapture theory as is commonly taught. We could agree that weather 1, or 3 steps we are ready for "the world to come."

Well, I think we all believe Acts 2:38.

Acts 2:38 contains 2 commands and a promise:
Command 1 is to repent
Command 2 is to be baptized
The promise is the HGB (Holy Ghost Baptism) which is called the promise of the Father

We just believe justification/salvation/regeneration happens at different points.
Some believe it happens when command 1 has been completed. These are termed "one-steppers" on these forums.
Some believe it takes commands 1 and 2 and then the promise just happens automatically whether you realize it or not (We call these folks Campbellites).
Others believe a person is not saved/justified/born again until both commands have been completed and the promise has been received. We call these folks "three steppers."

Well, step "2" is a command so it should naturally follow step "1"

Step "3" is not a command but is a promised gift for ALL.
