UPC Pastor's miracle testimony -Omaha shooting

Over the holidays I visited family in Apopka. This past Sunday at Mike William's church (about half of which I believe are my relatives by blood or marriage) there was a guest speaker.

UPCI Pastor Jimmy Toney gave a wonderful message "No Limits"

As part as the message he recounted that his wife was at work during the killing spree at the mall in Omaha. She was in the customer service department and the ONLY one not murdered. People within three feet of her on either side were gunned down.

Police told Pastor Toney at that point the killer still had 30 rounds left and went to kill others before taking his own life. Police said it was miraculous she was still alive and the only explanation is somehow he did not see her there in plain sight.

The rest of the message was equally inspiring as he went on to proclaim - No limits in 2008.

Yes really amazing stories of God's protection

rosebud 01-03-2008 11:02 AM

I just have to add my own personal testimony of God's protecting hand!

Years ago as a teenager in the neighborhood where we lived we had a police officer who had a police dog that had been rejected from the police force due to his inability to be trained he was a "MEAN and AGGRESIVE" dog. Anyway I was walking home from school and he came charging out at me and I just started to call on Jesus and that dog just kept lunging at me and circling me, my Mom pulled up and I jumped in the car and she said "that was the strangest thing....that dog looked like it was being blocked from getting close enough to bite you, but yet there was nothing in the way". Well I remember thinking well that's cool, but why didn't God just knock that dog out or something? (teenager, wild imagination......wanted a more demonstrative act of protection from God). Well as the day wore on, I realized just how awesome God was to protect me from that dog.

1 week later I was on my way to school early in the morning, and before I could even think that same dog came charging at me, I didn't even have time to call on Jesus....the next thing I know the dog is yelping and screaming like it has been hit by a mac truck and falls at my feet out like a light!! I was shocked and awed and also thought (someone is gonna think I killed this dog)! I just stepped around it and continued up the street praising God! My friend on the corner, said what's with that dog laying on the ground? At that time I turned around and that dog staggered to its feet and literaly looked at me and tucked it's tail and ran!!!

I will never forget that experience!!! God is AWESOME!! :bliss:hanky:bliss

In addition to all of the above:

In 1990, we desperately needed a vehicle, but could not afford won. My wife and I registered to win a 1991 Ford Explorer. We held hands and prayed after dropping the registration card in the box, "if it's God's will, let us win. If it's not His will we don't want it."

6 weeks later, we received a phone call telling us we had won!

More recently we have been struggling for the past few years, trying to get completely out of debt, except for our mortgage. We have both lost multiple jobs during this time, but God has been faithful. On this month's credit card statement there is an unexplained credit of $161.00. Neither of us can determine where it came from, and after calling the credit card company, they don't know either. It shows up as a refund, but the credit card company says it didn't come from them, and there is no contact number to find out where it came from!

God is good, in all areas of our life!

The Good Lord has been so good to the Ole FRINGE_NUTTER.

He delivered me out of sin and placed my foot on a solid rock.

Several years ago, my right leg was messed up playing softball. The doctor put me in a brace and told me I would need surgery to correct it.

One Sunday night I went up for prayer, and did not "feel" anything. When I went back to my pew, the Lord said "Rejoice, it is done." I began to shout and the Lord said, "Take off the brace, you don't need it anymore." I had to have help getting it off, but was obedient. That was at least 15 years ago, I never had surgery, and do not wear a brace!

He has given me existence and being.

He has put the spring of Sisyphus' downhill step in my stride. He has weighted my lightness with the importance of meaning.

He has germinated a kernel of corn and allowed it to fall to the ground and die. He shares His expectation with me.

I've seen miracale after miracale performed in my life you kept
having mercy on me I've been blessed to be alive
When I couldn't see, Lord you kept your angles in camp around me
and I wanna take this time to say thank you lord for keeping me alive.
I've had many friends and loved ones, who've gone on before me

Rhoni 01-03-2008 08:37 PM

In 1991 God healed me from a near fatal car accident;
They said I wouldn't live: Jesus said I will not die.
They said I'd never walk again: Jesus said I'd run.
They said I never walk without leg braces: Jesus said I was healed.
They said God was punishing me: Jesus said I was forgiven.
They said I wasn't worthy: Jesus died for me.

Just for starters!

Thank you Jesus. I love you.

Always,
Rhoni

I lost 3 of my children over the years and I also lost my sanity for a time after that. Almost died from that. I am a little bitty thing but I was down to 85 lbs. Then one day at a gas station I saw a lady and I knew she was Pentecostal. I had been raised in UPC but had been away from the church and the Lord for many years. Anyway I asked that lady if there was a Pentecostal church in this little town and she said yes and my husband is the pastor. Imagine that. This would be the start of a healing for me, it's not completed but it is getting there. I now have 6 grown children, 9 grandbabies with another on the way. I am so BLESSED.

I want to thank God for sending someone to plow my driveway out this week. My husband is waiting to have hip replacement surgery this month and I recently had surgery myself so we didn't know how we were going to get our driveway cleaned out. Someone was kind enough to come do this for us and we are very thankful.

The Lord spoke to me one night to give 50 bucks in the offering. I only had 50 to my name. No food in the house and could not afford to get LadyChocolate her "Chocolate fix". But I obeyed. On the way home, I had to get someone to jump our car because our battery was bad. We live in a very poor house. We we about to go to sleep, and a knock came on the door. One of the brothers in the church said he had been praying and the Lord told him to come by and give us some money.

It was 100 bucks. :)

GOD IS GOOD.
SCUSE me while I boogie.

Where there is life there is hope. Oh that blessed hope that one day I will see Jesus face to face.

BoredOutOfMyMind 01-04-2008 11:17 AM

Last Sunday (the one before Christmas) we took up a special offering. When I heard the offering was going to an individual, I begged all the cash my daughter had in her wallet. It has been unusually slow at work, but I had two sales the next day and one had a special bonus. I received BACK what I put in the offering and then some.

Some call it normal, I give HIM all the glory.

Adra 01-04-2008 11:55 AM

I don't think there is enough room here for me to write all that God has done for me in 2 and 1/2 years I have been a Christian. So much that I thank Him for. I will tell you one--

(miracle No. one)Before I became a Christian I developed a breathing problem. I breathed so shallow that sometimes I would get weak. I went to the dr. and had tests run and went to the hospital and had different things done and noone could find out why I had shortness of breath.

I was so afraid tha I was going to die.

And then circumstances occured and I became a child of God. I was saved from a life of emptyness. I still had shortness of breath just as bad, but I was no longer afraid. I knew where I was going if I died and was happy for that reassurance. But about 2 weeks after I accepted God, my pastor had an alter call and I went forward and asked for prayer. And God healed me of the breathing problem. A lot more happened at that same time-----

About 6 yrs. ago the place that I worked was robbed, pushed down and cursed and tied up and coke poured all over me. I was dragged from one part of te building to another with a gun held to the back of my head.

I left that place so traumatized that I did not leave my house for 2 months. I could not allow anyone to get within arms length of me. I stopped driving alltogeather and only went out when someone else was with me.

(simultanious miracle) When I asked for prayer the ladies of the church came forward and laid hands on me and afterward they hugged me and I never once panicked because of them touching me. That fear left me, the ladies still hug me and I value their hugs because it reminds me that God gave me a miracle.

(simultanious miracle No. 2) Within 2 weeks I began driving to go get groceries and in time got a job. I have since quit that job becasue of the
unchristian atmosphere but it was a growing time for me. I actually went to pay bills and take care of some business for my employer.

God is good and I never forget the biggest wonderful thing He did for me, I was an athiest and now I am not. Jesus died on the cross so that I would not be lost.

LadyChocolate 01-04-2008 12:16 PM

okay.. here we go! Several years ago, lordchocolate and I were in a bad situation. We had enough food for breakfast the next morning but after that we had nothing. We told no one of our dilema. My wonderful husband had been up praying that morning around 3. After breakfast, one saint from the church had been driving his truck and said that God told him to go buy us groceries! He filled our cabinets and had us over to eat that night! God is awesome!
ladychocolate sings *CAN'T NOBODY, DO ME LIKE MY JESUS*
