McCain's Kool Aid
If you are politically conservative, likely Republican nominee John McCain wants to offer you some Kool Aid.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain - you know, the wizard who partnered with Ted Kennedy to make "open borders" official policy. This was bipartisanship at its best: more cheap labor for Republicans to exploit, and more poor people for Democrats to woo with feigned compassion. Don't give it much thought, just drink the Kool Aid, and be happy. Forget about the Bill to Undermine the First Amendment, aka McCain-Feingold. Have some more Kool Aid, lest you begin to think of "bipartisanship" as something less than a panacea for our every malaise. If it weren't for Kool Aid, we the people might venture outside the box and come up with something radical and dangerous....like tripartisanship. Then things might really get out of hand and we'd find our brains, our hearts, and our courage. And our blessed two-party system would melt. Perish the thought. Liberals - drink! Conservatives - drink! Donkeys and elephants (or is it sharks and jellyfish?) forever! |

Re: McCain's Kool Aid
I was accused of crazy talk earlier. Now the notion of suicide voters is getting national attention.
A suicide voter is a conservative who plans to vote for a Democrat for president if McCain is the Republican nominee. |
Re: McCain's Kool Aid
Those that have been around here long how i feel about third parties.
I am seriously considering voting for the constitution party candidate. |
Re: McCain's Kool Aid
I'd vote for Obama before McCain.
So, I guess that makes me a suicide voter ... though I'm a registered Indie voter. |
Re: McCain's Kool Aid
These issues are probably why the Libretarian party is one of the fastest growing parties in the U.S. I tend to agree with them on a lot of issues, especially economic ones.

Re: McCain's Kool Aid
How does "President Obama" sound to you?
McCain is 1,000 times more conservative on his most liberal day than Hillary or Obama are on their most conservative day. Check the facts. The ACU gives McCain an 82.3 rating and Hillary a 9. That's an 82% conservative voting record versus her 9%. Obama is barely better than her. You guys are nuts if you think voting third party or sitting it out or voting for a Democrat is better for our country and party. You just don't get it. |

This could deal an existential blow to the Republican party. But if the Republican party were split properly, a third party could emerge to win over conservative Democrats and craft a majority. |

Neither Clinton nor Obama is gay, so the first part is ignorantly wrong. And I don't believe, while they are pro-choice, either are "baby killers." Also, voting Dem doesn't mean you've thrown your morals away, though the morale of conservatives would be weakened with a Democratic, or even a McCain presidency. But whatever makes you feel better ... :cowbell |
Re: McCain's Kool Aid
Four years of Jimmy Carter was enough to start the Islamic fundamentalist movement we have today. Four to eight years of Obama or Hillary will be enough for them to undermine the military enough, our intelligence community, our sovereignty, our freedoms, our economy, our institutions, and anything traditional and conservative it will take 30 years to undo. Some of the things that will be created under their watch we will never be able to reverse. Vote for McCain as an anti-Obama/Hillary vote.

Did I miss something along the way? What's wrong with Mike Huckabee. Can't we vote for him, or doesn't he have a chance. If everybody that was voting for all the others that have dropped out would vote for him I think He might make it.

Romney was the only one in the race that offered a little something to each of the three legs of the stool of the Republican coalition of fiscal conservatives, cultural conservatives, and defense/military conservatives. |

oh I'm with you , It is just the nature of the beast.
most of the time when one party is in for 2 terms the other party gets the next election. History repeats itself. |

Re: McCain's Kool Aid
Well you know, the dems are not fairing well in that catagory either.
They say there will be a pretty big debate over the "super delegates"...if Obama wins the states then goes to the convention and they give it to Hillary there will be fireworks. |

That wouldn't work. We'd have the east and west coast making all of our decisions for us. All states need equal representation. |
Re: McCain's Kool Aid
Well that is in the November election, I just talking about the Primaries. They are saying that even though Obama will probably finish out with the win, that Hillary is going to "buy" the delegates that are left over from candidates that have dropped out of the ;race and the super delegates already have pledged their support of her.
