I've been up since early this morning...went and got gas in the bitter cold, and stopped in at Kroger...

Came home and made my momma an omelette...diced ham, Swiss and American cheese, onion, diced tomato...she loved it.

Been busy since cleaning house...want things done because of the surgery next week and I don't want her having to worry with things.

What I've been playing while working is a CD I bought yesterday. It's 5 selections from back in the day by Edwin and Walter Hawkins...

Planning on going to the Goodwill on Lake Austin Blvd. I hear they have really nice clothes and possibly might have stuff in my size. Then on to K&G if the Goodwill doesn't live up to it's reputation.

Not much.

I laid with my motion machine on my leg for a couple hours.

Got up to move around a bit and check AFF.

Then, I'll go sit and watch the snow melt - - - it's been so pretty, but the sun is out strong today and melting it quickly.

Tackling some decluttering. I'm moving this summer and I'm just not taking things with me I won't be using. Or don't need. Or are not in good shape. It's time to eliminate extra baggage.

Well, what I am doing today is a project that started last Thusday. And it all started with looking for some dishes. We have some old "Hull" dishes. I think that is the name of them. Well, I was looking for them and, got to noticing the kitchen cabinets. Awful. Dark brown, just awful. So. I got some varnish stripper and started removing the 1000 coats of varnish and stain. Cleaned them right down to the beautiful wood that lay under all that ugliness.

Now- 3 days later, I'm applying a clear finsh on them. And, I must say they look 1000 times better. And the funny thing is... I still haven't found those dishes!

This sounds like the story of my life. LOL

I start doing one thing, and end up doing something else-- often a dozen other things or more in a day-- and never finish the original thing I started out to get done.


To answer Barb's question-- I've stripped all the beds, washed quilts & sheets...
And then got started again on the never ending job of getting my office/homeschool classroom organized. I have discovered that the rubbermaid items I purchased for organizing stuff in aren't going to be enough, so I've made a list of the other items I think will be enough to complete the job... and in an hour or so, since the snow has all just about melted, I'm heading to town to pick them up so I can hopefully finish this job today and get started on another room. I've been working on it now for over a week...and getting sidetracked doing other things in the house--My goal today is to finish this room.

We got a bunch of snow last night. The light kind that blows and drifts easily.

And I have a funeral video that I needed to finish (just got it done). So far today I am still sitting here in my robe, not even dressed for the day. Maybe I won't even bother. It's that kind of day. You know how it is.

I've done several loads of laundry and have a bunch yet to go.

Justin is working at McDonald's. Keith is bowling on his league. And Walt is sitting here sleeping in the chair near me :)

Renda, I'm eating left-over pizza for lunch. Our local pizza place makes a Philly Steak Pizza that is to-die-for! No red pizza sauce. Hooray! They use ranch dressing, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, onions, muchrooms, green peppers and steak. Mmmmmmmm

I just woke up after being up late last night because I'm working midnight shifts tonight and tomorrow night. I'm also going in to do the supper med pass for today and tomorrow as well. So I'm just reading here until it's time to get ready then I'll be back about 5 to read and post some more.

Getting things ready to go on the ferry tomorrow after church over to Juneau. Will get to eat out at several restaurants. Will do some shopping plus take care of some business things. :bliss

Well, now, I really don't know. (Maybe thats why I haven't found them.) "Hull" dishes are old, collectable dishes that, I am told, are worth a little bit of money. Lola started to put them in a yard sale once, and I said we should check the value before doing so. A cup that she would have sold for maybe a quarter is worth about $85. So, I thought I'd check to see if we still have them. Trouble is, I don't know all her hiding places!

Got up this morning, had devotions with DW and went to breakfast with some of the men of the church, put $44.00 worth of gas in car (compact), came home caught up on bible reading in Deuteronomy, spent time on line with Apostolic friends, had lunch, washed car, worked in yard and here I am again!! Aren't you sorry you asked?

Returned a rental car; flew to Nashville from Dallas; picked up our car; drove home; went to Target; unpacked a little; checked emails; now on AFF. My mind is so exhausted from the conference we were in this week; brain overload!!! I'm going to set my clock ahead and go to bed early, I hope. Three services tomorrow!

I have been adjusting to not working again with going to estate sales and working in the yard.

I have gone to as many estate sales as I could the last few weeks. I found some great Chinese antiques a couple of weeks ago. I bought a set of vases (three) and an 50"X30" painting of a Geisha girl on silk parchment. I was pricing the framing for the painting and it will cost nearly as much to frame it than what I payed for it.

I planted some Azaleas and some Confederate Jasmine in the backyard this afternoon, while trying to keep my new puppy from crawling under the deck where I couldn't get her.

Oh, yeah, I got a new puppy last weekend. She is a 9 week old mini-dachshund named Gracie. My 8 year old Cairn terrier was not too pleased with me this week.

Oh, let's see... today I am headed to church... I hope every remembered to put their clocks ahead! I am so ready for spring... I want sandals again! I am tired of wearing boots....

After church, I plan on cleaning for a little bit and then relaxing.... we only have 1 service on Sundays....I like it because I don't have to go out at night in the cold...But I reallly miss Sunday night services....

Maybe I will plan out my week and get a little ahead of schedule! We shall see!

Anyway, that is all I am doing!

yesteday spent all day shopping for clothing for Breauna... all my girls' clothes are too big. Then we come home, had dinner, baked brownies and watched an old movie.

Today, we are headed to church.... in fact, I've been yellin' "Get down here, I'm leavin' for the last 20 min" We have afternoon service. I love it. :bliss

I did watch my last knee surgery when they cleaned up some cartlidge - - looked like shredded crab meat.

I'm sure my OLD knee was nothing to be proud of........

I never ever skip church, but did today. Instead I took Keith to get a haircut, then got gas, picked up some quick lunch at McD's and in 1/2 hour we are leaving again. Keith qualified to bowl in the PepsiCola Scholarship Tournament at the Regional Level. That's what we're doing this afternoon is driving an hour away so he can bowl in this.

Keith is hoping to make it to the State Level again (he's done it 3 times now). That will be in Columbus in late May. Ooo boy, right at GRADUATION time for Justin. Geesh! What's a mother to do? I'm exhausted just thinking about that.

Wish him luck today. He really wants this. The problem is that he's gotten so much better that his average is way up now. Since their standings are based on how much over their average they bowl................

We got back home from south Brazil and by the time we went to bed it was almost 5 AM...slept a little while then went to one of our saints homes that had cooked for us.
At 5 we have service (our time) so with service and getting people home that takes until 11 PM or so...
I am supposed to preach in the service this afternoon...We have so many helpers I seldom have to but was asked to so will do my best...Maybe God will take over and we will dance for a few hours!

Skipped church because everybody is sick. Sitting here watching the NASCAR race and dying my hair. My wife did it last night and it turned a nice shade of orange. So we're re-doing it.

Is it unmanly for a man to dye his hair while he's watching a NASCAR race?
