Huldah amazes me

She was asked to give the Lord`s opinion after a book of the Law was rediscovered. Strange that Jeremiah was not consulted...

Re: Huldah amazes me

Here are a few theories: That's probably b/c as a man Jeremiah had something more important to do at the time. Or maybe Jeremiah was the final spiritual covering and authority over what Huldah said. Or maybe Huldah was usurping Jeremiah's authority. Or maybe the people that asked her opinion were backsliden and in rebellion against God's order. Therefore whatever she thought the Lord was leading her to do was null and void. :heeheehee

Or maybe God really does use women in positions of spiritual authority. No. That would be too much of a stretch.

Or maybe she was just a servant of the Lord who was known for her consistent, ethical, honest, spiritual and intellectual abilities. Maybe she was known to be in favor with God and Man.

:clap

Re: Huldah amazes me

Well, whatever it was she gave them the word of the Lord...
I find the circumstances quite interesting...
Her words from God brought quite a revival to the priesthood and to the nation of Israel.
I don´t think she usurped authority at all. She took no authority sharing God´s word. She fulfilled her duty as a prophetess. I just have always wondered where Jeremiah was at the time?

I preached at one of our churches tonight...I took no authority over anyone...only shared with them a beautiful Bible story.

There was a pastor in my home town of Nerk, Ahia that was part of a LARGE Pentecostal organization. His wife had more power in her 15 minute testimony than he did in a 2 hour hells fire and brimestone message. Good lord could she speak and sing, Her's was to God's glory therefore it actually moved God which brought his presence down. His? well not real sure?

Did you know that Charles Smith passed away this past year? When I left my brothers church back almost 16 years ago I went to the church that Charles had pastored. At that time T L Kirk was pastor. He is now the Bishop and his son James is now the pastor.

I know Mike Lee but did not know the elder Lee. Mike and is wife his are good people.

I knew of the Goines but did not know them. Guy and Charles had another brother that was in church but did not pastor and then several sisters. They may have had another brother also but not sure of any other names.

WOAH!! Don't you understand that this happened in the OT?

Once women got baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost in the NT, they lost any chance at all of acting in a leadership capacity and were regulated to bake sales and such. ;) TIC

They were ALJC and yes Guy was in Zville and Charles in Newark and then relocating in Heath. Both churches are still going strong but both men are now gone.

Yes, her son is currently in Tx with his uncle. She helps with my mom. My mom is 81 and her mind is slipping faster than her physical health. Jeanette comes and helps with her hair.

Oh my, you are on the slippery slope.

"Love not the world, neither the things of the world, if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

Repent, and promise not to lust after "movie theater" popcorn again, that it may be well with thy soul.
