Do our pets go to heaven?
Okay guys.Here's a question,I have had several pets in my life time and I have loved them all very much.Heres my take on the subject.Man has a soul animals and angels do not but,they have a spirit.If God is the same yesterday,today and always then, we must go to the book of Genesis1 where he created everything and all the animals.when God created them he looked upon his work and said that it was good.Ive been taught that God does not dispose.He loves his creation.The bible also states that he cares for the animals because he feeds them and clothes the lilies of the field!iN The begining we all were all to live forever but because of mankinds sin everybody including the animals started to die.If God does not dispose of his creation then maybe Ill see my four legged friends in heaven.What do you all think?:kittyhug:dogpat:largehalo:doggyrun

Dogs? Yes. Cats? No.

Re: Do our pets go to heaven?
My husband is a huge animal lover. I heard him tell his mom that he felt God had a special place in heaven for animals. Do I agree? Nope but he loves animals so much that he wants to believe that. :tissue

Re: Do our pets go to heaven?
Breath = Life giving force.
Spirit = The inner part of a person; God's agency. Although I do not see any scriptural evedence of what you are asking, I can only assume based upon some clues that might support your theories. According to Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the "breath" of life; and man became a living soul. From Strong's concordance we find that the word "breath" is derived from the Hebrew word neshamaw which means: A puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect. or an "animal":--- blast, (that) breath (-eth), inspiration, soul, "spirit". The word "spirit" is closely tied in with breath (also found in Strong's concordance) taken from the Hebrew word "ruwach". Take this information for what it's worth ( a grain of salt), but if God breathed into man, then it wouldn't be difficult to see that animals are given His breath to live as well. Even though I do not find any evedence to support animals going to heaven when they die, it is difficult for me to say that the spirit of the animals will not go on to live forever. JMO. |

Re: Do our pets go to heaven?
I don't know, but if they do, we'll have to have an extra house just for the animals that have passed on from our family. Thus far the count has been:
Ten chicks (Jeff and I bought them right after we were married, they were all grabbed by a possum or other critter on their first night outside, except for the biggest named "Gusto", who unfortunately didn't survive our overzealous attempts to "save" him with the hair dryer. :oops) 1 gray persian cat 1 siamese cat, Sapphire, died of old age at about 18 2 labs, Jethro & Zipporah (at different times) 1 bichon frise named Cracker Jacque, hit by a car 1 lovely silver tabby named Tiger, killed by contaminated pet food (remember that?) 1 boxer mix stray named Stella, hit by the neighbor's truck 1 beta fish named Valentine 2 hamsters, Henry & Harvey 10 goldfish, who only survived one night 1 Boston Terrier named Chloe |

Pets have no souls.
They are temporary sources of pleasure for humans and have no eternal value. |

Will our pets be judged? Will there be any memories of this life in the new life to come? What value will a stupid cat have in eternity? If anything, God will give us new pets that will never leave us heartbroken-- pets that know how to praise God. However I find no scripture for this, just wishful thinking from a guy who misses his own dead dog. He's probably in some body's flower bed now! I'm over it. You all should get over it too! :) |

What's the point in deciding that they won't be there? ;). I have no way of knowing for sure, so I'll just go along my merry way...

Re: Do our pets go to heaven?
Didn't Elijah get carried away by a fiery chariot?
http://www.geocities.com/mantle_ark/mantle.jpg Hey look, heavenly horses! LOL ooooOOOOOoooo I just thought of a theological argument for animals going to heaven. If Elijah's chariot was driven by heavenly horses, Jesus comes back on a white horse, and the saints come riding back on white horses... Where did these horses come from? Biblically speaking the only place that their creation is mentioned is here on earth. Nowhere do we read of a horse or animal being created in heaven. Therefore logic would demand that these horses were born on earth, perished, and went to heaven. To prove me wrong you'll have to provide a biblical proof showing that these animals were made in heaven. :tease Thoughts? :lol |
