I am right, you are wrong.

Your theology is wrong.

Your political views are warped.

I am right. You are wrong.

As per standard forum protocol, I will prove these statements by yelling, hurling insults, and flooding each thread with post after post of copy/paste material.

Sound familiar?:neener

That is a simple example of not being politically correct.

Yes, it sounds familiar. You do this just about every time you appear on The Forum.

Sounds about right. But that's not only on AFF, that's anywhere!

The word Coadie and BLIGHT come to mind.

AFF's master impressionist graffiti artist. Nah, it's just algae.

on AFF
on other forums (or is the plural fora?)
on Church platforms from the pulpit
on panel discussions on tv

You know, I was actually pondering this very thing yesterday. I belong to 3 secular internet forums besides AFF and I have never seen anything on those forums like the scabbling I've seen here on AFF. Just sayin'.

I think you can be passionate about something and still be tolerant and respectful of different opinions. Just sayin'.

I'm VERY tolerant of people with wrong opinions. Wait, you said, "differing opinions." Oh well, same thing.

Re: I am right, you are wrong.

As with any group, some are more tolerant than others. I personally can be very stubborn about some things. I am trying to work on that. There's a list.........

Yeah, I'm on a few other forums too and although I enjoy some of the discussions on this one, sometimes it's REALLY hard to wade through them with the monotonous "YOU JUST SAY THAT BECAUSE YOU'RE A LIBERAL" posts in every thread.

I think I am tolerant, although I will admit sometimes it's hard to be. And I really try to be kind and respectful.

I use to belong to a board that was pretty much political.
It was :drawguns round the clock!

I've never seen anything like it since. It fizzled out eventually because there was never any consenses on banning and discipling over the top behavior.

I find this board very respectful and people trying very hard to live up to their affilation: "Jesus".

I think some folks can't find anyone to listen to them in real life, so they come to forums and scream real loud. They love the attention they get from reaming everybody and everything.

..I dunno,....
I belong to several Linux forums ...and some of them can REALLY get all steamed-up over some issue with the operating system! (A lot of computer geeks take their operating system just like a religion.) And then,...quite a few will think that their particular variety of linux distro is better or superior not only to windows os,...but all the other types of linux as well. Religion, politics, and linux,....pretty close to one another.

I don't know. It's complex.

The personalities on AFF, the dynamics of conversations talked about without being in person... it's all bad... brings out the worst in people... at least it does in me.

I certainly haven't been gracious lately... it's almost like it's not expected. So much snotty pride.

I may take a vacation soon as a result. I certainly am a different person when chatting with neighbors, friends, family and acquaintances. So there's something to AFF that brings out my bark sometimes.
