Did something carnal tonight

An amusement park came to our town and I took my Sunday School class...Most of you know we work in a country that mainly has two classes of people the very rich and the very poor...My class, teenagers, had NEVER been one time to ride a ride of any kind. We took 30 of them. Bought their tickets gave some of them snack money and they had the biggest time...
Remember I work with people who have never had the money to even go to McDonalds...the park cost what a man would make working 2 and a half days per person! (Brazilian money)
Needless to say they were amazed beyound words....and we rode some of the rides with them and that seemed to make it so special to them...

Rejoice my friends...you have untold and uncounted blessings that most of the world will never enjoy...If you could have seen their smiles...

Sister Alvear 05-12-2007 12:08 AM

Yes, some will think that is wrong...think on...some people are so heavenly minded they are no earthly good...

That is SO sweet. It makes me laugh and cry at the same time. I thank God for my untold and uncounted blessings. And I am so glad that you make them smile!

Sis. Alvear, God is going to bless you above and beyond all measure. I think of you often and pray for you and the work you are doing. I also pray for protection and I plead the Blood of Jesus daily.

Keep on working for the King.......

Sister Alvear 05-12-2007 12:21 AM

Thanks for such kind words...I have one main desire and that is to be REAL..in my service to my Friend Jesus and serving His little ones I am serving Him...
I just love my AFF family. Love you folks.

Tamor, I see you are from Adamsville. Did you ever know a Sister Scott? I don't even know if she belonged to any certain group. She was a good friend of my folks many moons ago.

Sherri 05-12-2007 12:26 AM

Oh my goodness, I will answer for Tamor since she's not on here right now. Brenda Scott pastored 8 miles away from our church in Adamsville for years; she's retired now. Her son David married a gal who grew up in our church and was our minister of music for YEARS. He's incredibly talented! He now lives in Jackson where we live, and they own a medical supply business and have a beautiful home and two gorgeous kids. Brenda's husband Dee wasn't saved for several years, but he finally came to the Lord and continues to live for him now. That is so wild that you know them!!

Sherri 05-12-2007 12:27 AM

And by the way, I can just imagine you having as much fun at the amusement park as those kids! That is something they will NEVER forget. Thank God for your kindness to them. My kids don't know how spoiled they've been! They've travelled all over the world.

If you're talking about Dorothy Scott, yes I do. I know her well. She was part of our church in Adamsville, but I don't know where she attends now.

I wasn't even thinking about Brenda Scott. The first one that came to my mind was Dorothy.

Sorry, I didn't know you were on here. I didn't mean to butt in on your question! I imagine she's talking about Dee & Brenda, because they were independent, not UPC, for years and years. She only joined UPC the last several years of pastoring.

That shot they gave me today gave me WAY too much energy. The doctor told me I might be wide awake tonight!!!

That's okay. I answer yours too! She probably is talking about Sis Brenda.
And I was fixing to ask you what in the world you're doing up. But you'd probably just ask me the same thing!! :lol

Hey, are you ready for tomorrow night? Think you'll cry? It's a totally different feeling than with Ashley and Tiffany.

It's actually at 2 pm tomorrow, and YES I will definitely cry. Just hearing the graduation song makes me cry, even if I don't know anyone up there!

It seems really weird that I will have NO children left at home, come August. Jake will be moving out too, I guess. He wants to get married and has to start saving some real money soon. I don't know when they're getting married, but their minds are made up and they're talking it to everyone.

I guess! I'd never had a cocktail before in my life! Should I be repenting?

No, but it's definitely a God-thing. He never would even bring that last gal around to meet any of us. Besides how could I have ever lived down a niece named Trinity???? I couldn't have told anyone on this board!

Anna is precious and loves God and is full of the Holy Ghost. We would have hand picked her for Jake if we had been asked (which we weren't.) LOL!

One time Eddie was SOOOOO sick and he went to Dr. Thomas and found out they were going to give him a shot in his behind. When the gal came in, it was Stephanie Vinson from church. They were both embarrassed, but he was so sick, I think at that point he didn't care. It was funny!! "Bend over, Pastor".:killinme :killinme Then he had to go back for two more (at least that's the story he gave me!). LOL

I don't know Anna that well, but I will say that I'm definitely gonna have to get used to this couple.....

That's his story and he's sticking to it?? RIGHT!! He just liked that cute little nurse!

Hey, what happened to him the other night? He mentioned that he was almost to the point of going to the ER......

Craziest thing! He had an infected toenail and the pain had shot all the way up his leg and was hurting so bad he could barely stand it. I know it was just an attack, because that's the only night it's done it - right after he announced the healing service. The devil is such an idiot - he always overplays his hand and then we get mad and come out fighting!

Sister Alvear 05-12-2007 01:12 AM

haven't seen them for years but would love to see them and yes I do remember their son also.

Jon said that. We were talking about it and he said, "I bet it was his leg." I'm thinking, "You don't know that." Oh well, I guess he did.

Ok, on that note, I'm going to take my hips to bed, as Barb would say (never have understood that, but it's cute). Maybe this cocktail SHOT will wear off and I will be able to sleep.
