Talebearers

Exactly what does one have to do these days to be a talebearer?

There is more scripture on talebearing than there is on a woman cutting her hair or many other issues that many hold as hard and fast doctrine...

Yet we appear to take talebearing lightly and abide talebearers.

Lev 19:16 Thou shalt not go up and down [as] a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I [am] the LORD.

Pro 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Pro 18:8 The words of a talebearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Pro 20:19 He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, [there] the fire goeth out: so where [there is] no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Pro 26:22 The words of a talebearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

I don't think we should bear our tales to anyone.

Modest talebearing.

What a concept.

Ronzo 05-25-2007 10:38 AM

My tale is big enough for all to see without me bearing it...

Wrong.

Modesty forbids tale bearing.

Okay... I get what you are saying and I agree.

It would seem that modesty would, indeed, forbid talebearing.

Uh oh. Who's bearing tales? What tales? We need to know. :didimiss

I think it's a reference to the high hemlines that are in this spring.

You know, "A talebearer revealeth secrets..." and all that.

That's a good verse to preach against short skirts from.

I feel like Im in a room full of UPCer's guys.
D4T ask a serious question about tale bearing and it goes to fun jesting and then to nudity to spandex and who knows where from there... I think I need to find someone and tell them about this so we can pray about it ;)
