Los Vaqueros breaking tortillas...

...in Houston, TX. My wife and I had the privilege of meeting Daniel Alicea and his two beautiful children tonight. We ate some Mexican food at El Vaquero, then traveled over to El Elote Feliz (the crazy corn) to try to get some ice cream...didn't work, so we just went to Kroger :D Had a great time. We're planning on visiting Grace Church Humble tomorrow to give my wife her first charismatic experience! :D

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening w/ the Segui and his wife ... this evening. The food was good ... the fellowship priceless.

Had myself some T-Bone steak ... and talked their ears off.

What gracious, intelligent and transparent folks!!!

Segui has the heart of a pastor .... and his wife is wonderful with children ... they are a wonderful couple who will make godly and outstanding parents.

Tomorrow, we're hoping to meet up at Grace church. I'm looking forward to it .....

And Grace Church was great, too! Ole Dan was runnin' in and out, but we enjoyed it!

philjones 05-27-2007 02:06 PM

Dan,

I thought you were at Church of Champion? If you are at Grace Church, please tell Brett and Scott and Gigi and the Elders Jones that I send them my regards! i went to TBC with Brett and Gigi and Scott assisted in DeRidder, LA with Bro. Johnson and also was personal assistant for Bro. Tenney. Great folks all! I attended Mt. Houston when i was a student there and really enjoyed my time there.

Since Easter, I've attended Grace regularly on Sundays ... and been to COC once ....

I love CoC ... Pastor Hutchins and the church family there have been great ... but for several reasons ... I am thinking of making Grace my home church ...

Among them are:

1. It's a little easier to access and less time in commuting ... and they have an 11:30 Sunday morning service

2. My kids seem to be more comfortable there ... Danah likes it a lot ... I've had huge problems w/ Aaron staying in the nursery ... at CoC ... he just plain won't ... he's been good at Grace ... although today ... he would not cooperate.

3. I really enjoy the worship and preaching at Grace... Hector Soto, their music pastor, is awesome ....it's a Global Network church and I seem to relate a little better to their views also.

I haven't introduced myself to the Jones family, yet, Phil. They seem to be a great family. They are doing a fantastic job ... they now have 3 services on Sundays and are averaging 500-600 per service ...

Yes ... Dan has just admitted to church-hopping. :heeheehee

My muñeca [doll] is beautiful!!! I'm considering investing in a shotgun as she is now approaching her teen years ....

Had fun sitting and chatting w/ Segui and his wife .... who BTW will make wonderful pastors one day ...

You better buy that shotgun soon!

She looks as sweet as she is beautiful too!

Isn't it great meeting these people in real life? I think meeting people from here is somewhat different than a normal forum situation because we all share a similar background and you feel safe too because someone on here knows someone that knows someone, so it's not like we are complete strangers......:heeheehee

She's sweet and docile .. Segui can attest to how tranquil that child is ... HURRICANE AARON IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORY ....

I was thinking the same thing last night about how this forum is unique ... I can't imagine other type forums, especially secular, having the bond we have

Exactly. If we don't know them, at least we can get on here and talk to someone who does before becoming personally involved.

How far North?

I am in Central LA (Alexandria) right this moment and I occasionally have business in the Monroe and Shreveport areas. I also have a niece in Choudrant, LA. I am sure if I had the opportunity to make your acquaintance I could find a reason to come North!

Just let me know where I need to go and I will begin trying to make arrangements.

GREAT pictures! Thanks for sharing them.

Dan, your daughter is beautiful. Seriously!! When do we get to see pics of Aaron? And, excuse me for asking, but is there a Mrs. Dan?? Do we get to see pics of her?

Seg, your wife is also beautiful. You mentioned that she was going to have her first "charismatic experience". Is she not saved?? What did she think of it?

I wondered if that was meant. The statement could have gone either way. You're probably right :)

Aaron was sleeping when we took these pics ... who knows if he would've been still enough to pose for them if he was. At this time, there is no Mrs. Dan.
