NLYP Wandering The Christ Church Cemetary After Midnight!!!

It is after midnight in Nashville and I just got a call from NLYP. He and Ryan are wandering around the Christ Church Nashville Cemetary in the dark looking for Howard and Vestel Goodman's grave!!!!

They did find them finally after a few minutes wandering around. I am sitting here laughing at the image of NLYP and company getting arrested by the police for wandering around a graveyard after midnight.

I can just see NLYP trying to explain that he was there in a "professional capacity". LOL!!!

Knowing NLYP next he will be picking the lock to the church to check out the new part that was built since he attended here.:hypercoffee

He can't wait until in the morning to see the graves?

I mean ... Howard and Vestal AIN'T going anywhere.

However, this is Dan....totally unpredictable and adventurous!

WHO else but a mortician would be canvasing a cemetary at midnight!?!

NLYP 10-21-2007 01:03 AM

LOL.....as Howard would sing..."Brother what a time I'm having now".

LOL

LOL!!!! I bet you are wishing you could edit this post about now. It is barely into the 3rd quarter and the Titans are beatings the Texans 32 to 7 with our backup quarterback.

No ... not really ... I'm a life-long Cowboys fan ... my dad and brothers, Giants fans, hated me for it.

I am a longtime Dallas Cowbooys fan also. The 16 plus years I lived in Texas I hated the Oilers so I have to pretend that the Titans were never the Oilers. LOL.

The game today as a roller coaster. The first half of the game and into the first part of the third quarer wre great for me as a Titan's fan. We finally were piling up points on someone even if they were all from field goals.

Then the inept Texans came alive in the fourth quarter and almost pulled an upset by scoring 29 points in that quarter alone!!!!

The Texans ended up one point ahead of the Titans after trailing 32 to 7 at one point. Then with just 54 seconds left on the clock the Titans got the ball back and our backup quarterback drove us from the 20 yard line to the 17 yard line where with just two seconds on the clock our kicker Rob Brionas set an NFL record by kicking his 8th field goal of the game to win it for the Titans by 2 points.

The Broncos scared me. Toward the end of that game they started playing defense like they have the rest of the season - horrible. The Steelers were ripping off rushing yards in chunks more than 10 yards at a time. They were marching at will down the field to score those last two touchdowns.

I really thought the Broncos had blown it and the momentum had shifted but thankfully their kicker pulled them out of having to go to overtime with that 48 yard field goal with 2 seconds left on the clock!

That's all of the game I got to watch (was out after church eating....that's allowed, watching TV isn't......LOL!), and wish I'd been able to watch the rest.

I did, however, check the scores once during the preaching.....LOL!

PICTURES COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hypercoffee

ThePastorsCoach 10-23-2007 12:01 PM

I tell you - I got mad at Vestal for dying! I loved her so very much! I saw the Happy Goodman's at the National Quartet Convention in Memphis when I was around 10 in Memphis and always loved her singing. When I got the news that she had passed away - I kept saying - VESTAL - WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO AND DIE!!!!! She was so special and my favorite song even today is - I wouldn't take nothin' for my journey now - I've got to make it to heaven somehow, tho the devil tempts me and he tries to turn me around, he's offered everything that's got a name, all the wealth I could want or the worldly fame, but if I could still I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now.

I will have to agree with you on that. The Goodmans where my all time favorite group. When my daughter was small (like 5 yr.s old) I played my old Goodman records for her. I told her now open up and sing like Vestal. She can belt out God walks the dark hill just like here.

philjones 10-24-2007 05:08 PM

I just noticed how poor my sentence structure was in my post about the Bible study... it will not be an all day Bible study. I have just been studying all day for the Bible lesson.:D

I would count on it.

My late step father could sing very well and was a great musician. He was lead guitar player for Jim Reeves at one time. But he won't be playen in Heaven.

If Goodman or anyone else for that matter wasn't baptized in Jesus name their sins were not remitted and the are lost.

Anyone following trinny docrtine is lost.

Have a good day.

It was a mistake. I could never leave such false doctrine like that posted here under my name. Goodman was a good singer but so was Patsy Cline, but they where not saved. God forbid.

One MUST BE BASPTIED IN JESUS NAME TO BE SAVED.
