Very Interesting Take On The Authorship of The Gospel of John!!

Did John write the fourth gospel! Have you ever considered

that someone else could have written this gospel!!

I ran across this site and thought it might be

interesting to at least consider! We are told to

prove all things!

Interesting, I checked out a couple of the links, but too in depth for my tired mind tonight.
Will check it out later!
Thanks.

Just noticed the lastest "poetic license" with my avatar.

All I can say is "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas"!

Very Interesting Take On The Authorship of The Gospel of J

Bro. Tatum,

A few years ago I received a book written by a guy who was

studying this subject. It was not hardbound but just his study

of the subject but at the time too much was going on in my own

life to really dig too deeply into it. But I never forgot some of the

points he made. I just happened to run across this link this morning

and thought it would be interesting to look into again and to also get

some others digging with me!!! LOL!!! If two heads are better than one.

just think if we had a bunch of these brilliant heads on here to help study.

Blessings,

so who was it?

The author makes a case for Lazarus ....

The author makes a strong case for why John is not the author ....

To me, his case for Lazarus is speculative at best.

There was a time when my immediate response would have been to not even

give it a thought that John did not write the gospel of John. But I remember

a few years ago while studying the Bible, reading the story of Lazarus

death. The shortest verse in the Bible says that Jesus wept. But before

it says that Jesus wept, we see Mary falling at Jesus feet, saying, "Lord,

if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died" Jesus observes her

weeping and the the Jews which came with Mary, weeping. Why did he

groan in the spirit and was troubled? Asking where they had laid him and

they told him, come and see. Jesus wept!! The Jews then said, "Behold

how he loved him".

After all that Jesus had done, he knew they still could not see or believe.

This was grieveous to Jesus. That's why I believe Jesus wept. Otherwise

why would he weep over that which he had to power to raise up.

In Mark 8:12, we see Jesus sighing deeply in his spirit because the

Pharisees were questioning him, tempting him, seeking a sign.

Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem in Luke 19:41. He knew what

was to befall the people that God has visited and had done many

mighty works there, yet they would not believe.

No wonder Jesus wept. His own did not receive him.

Will He find faith in the earth! Will we believe His Word!

It's well reasoned but entirely speculative; but that's the fun of it. Did you listen to the .mp3 audio file - about 17:23 long?

At first I thought we were going to get a "Jesus loves Mary Magdalene" story, so going for Lazarus instead was an improvement upon my expectations.

kudos for the writer! LOL.

I have known that some suggest that John didnt write the Gosple but that Lazarus did is new to me. interesting.
