Christ Church Butchers the Hogs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christ Church is preaching a series on the Ten Commandments, and this past Sunday was "Thou shall not commit adultery".

Pastor L.H. Hardwick laid it all out, and you could hear a pin drop!! :D

He spoke of the three types of adultery: physical, mental, and spiritual.

He preached against the media putting sex on the TV, magazines, internet, billboards, etc. This is causing folks to commit mental adultery.

He shot in so many directions that nobody left without getting hit!!!!!

Bro. Epley would have loved it!! :toofunny

Let me guess, lots of saints just looking at their shoes during this sermon!
Good for him...and your church, we all need to be reminded!!!

I doubt there was much looking around!

Sounds like a great sermon and much needed one.

Hahahahaha! I went to the early service because of a tee time with my son-in-law. (I won by 3 strokes!)

CC1 goes to the 2nd service with all of the other lazy folks! :D

We have a long drive to church, almost an hour and I noticed a Christ Church on our regular route...I've never actually seen one! It's huge and they have traffic controllers out in the street on Sunday am.

CareyM: If you are in the Chi-town area now, you should visit Bill Hybels/ Willow Creek some weekend.

Try the 20 something's AXIS service on a Saturday night, if you can't make one of there Sunday services.

They have about 20,000 on a Sat/sunday.

Eat breakfast at the on site restuarant and then sho p the huge bookstore.

Google Willow creek Bill Hybels and you'll find their website.

They are in Barrington I think (Chicago area)

They are not pentecostal but are indepaendant..non denominational. Very progressive.

Barrington is not too far away...anywhere you go out here it's a 45min drive it seems! LOL

I'll check out the website...not sure if hubby will want to go though.

It's an experience...just to see how "others" do church and church growth. They will take you on tour of their operation if you ask.

You'll come away with ideas of things that "wish" you could institute at your church.

Happy T-day....and welcome to illinois from a fellow illinois-an

I thought Pastor Hardwick did a masterful job. I was actually going to start a thread about this sermon but was waiting for it to show up on the CC website as a sermon people could watch or listen to and then give the link.I will still do that I think.
