Exodus at Sinai and 50 days

I was studying about the parallels between the OT Exodus and the NT period after the cross. Both began on Passover with Christ, of course, standing as our passover.

We read Exodus took place the 15th day of the First month.

And then Israel arrived at Sinai on the third month.
Exodus 19:1 KJV In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
Notice the reference to a day.

What day is it?

The MKJV says it slightly differently.
Exodus 19:1 MKJV In the third month when the sons of Israel had gone forth out of the land of Egypt, on this day they came to the wilderness of Sinai.
Some scholars claim the meaning is that it is the First Day of the Third month they arrive at Sinai.

So, if they left Egypt on the 15th of the first month, and arrived at Sinai on the 1st of the third month, they traveled 45 days to get to Chapter 19:1.

Pentecost literally means 50th.

The idea is that five more days had to pass before Pentecost, which had not even been instituted yet, would occur.

So the 45th day saw them set up camp at Sinai.

The NEXT DAY, 46th, was when Moses went up the mount to God.
Exodus 19:3 KJV And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
Then THREE MORE DAYS are referred to by God for a period of cleaning.
Exodus 19:10-11 KJV And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, (11) And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
This brings us to 49 days.
Exodus 19:16 KJV And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
Moses receives the ten commandments and the law and comes to the people again after speaking with God.
Exodus 20:18-19 KJV And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. (19) And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
It seems something integral happened when they asked Moses to speak for them instead of God directly speaking to them, due to their fear.

Chapter 19 had them hearing God say they would be a kingdom of priests.... all of them. But this event where God wanted them all to come to Him was resisted due to their fear and they asked for a go-between of Moses instead.

All of this was the 49th day.

And then Moses goes to God again and stays there from chapter 20 through until 24.
Exodus 20:21 KJV And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
The fiftieth day came in Chapter 24.
Exodus 24:4 KJV And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And the glory cloud of God came on Sinai.
Exodus 24:15-16 KJV And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. (16) And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Just as on the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost filled the upper room and filled the 120.

Is this timeline correct?

Re: Exodus at Sinai and 50 days

Some have compared the 3000 slain at Sinai due to worship of the golden calf with 3000 saved on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. A sif they were on the same day.

However, if the 50th day is when the cloud covered the mountain after the the people entered into covenant and had the blood sprinkled on them and the book of law, there was an additional 6 days the cloud stayed on the mountain and Moses left for 40 days and nights before any 3000 were killed.
Exodus 24:15-18 KJV And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. (16) And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. (17) And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. (18) And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
Moses is up there for the entire chapters 25 through 31.

Then we read at the end of the 40 days when Moses returns:
Exodus 32:1 KJV And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Exodus 32:7 KJV And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

And of course the 3000 died.

Yes, the comparison is the Law worketh wrath, but the Promise/Grace gives life.....

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Re: Exodus at Sinai and 50 days

Any thoughts from anyone on the day the 3000 died as opposed to the 3000 saved, indicating they were not the same Day of Pentecost? It is obvious there is a connection to law slaying and grace giving life, but the specific question is were they on the same day as many have proposed?
