Happy Slaves :)

Re: Happy Slaves :)
The whole thing in a nutshell, is that the powers that be (those who hired Edward Bernays to help enslave us) use pleasure, and self gratification to keep us in quite servitude. The huddled masses forget that they are huddling, because of YouTubes, Avengers Endgame, Smart phones, Sports, Dinner on the Grounds (with cheesy corn bake) and last but not least Super Walmart BOGO!!!
We sadly are bought and sold in the market place. But, we don't care. Because there is another conference to go to and another pair of Allen Edmonds Men's Carlyle Oxfords to try out. Ahh, who cares if the world tumbles down around us. We can't do anything about it. Drink and eat for tomorrow we die 1 Corinthians 15:32. Alas, go out to witness and watch everyone nestled deep into their smart phone screens. While the United States starts to slowly slip under the waves. Yes? No? Why bother? There is a rapture coming soon! So just win souls while the wheels of the chariots spin ever increasingly towards us? |
Re: Happy Slaves :)
Very interesting but very applicable to today.
We are seeing a phenomenon in the American culture, no one really wants to be free because they don't view themselves as bound. |

Ok, so I watched this one. Can't argue with it. People are soooooo busy with things that don't matter. It's hard to get people out to church anymore. Travel ball, volleyball, football, drinking, going to the beach, golfing, etc etc. America does everything on Sunday nowadays EXCEPT go to church. I spent several hours the last few Saturdays out knocking doors with a a couple other men. We did have some visitors on Sunday, but not from our door knocking efforts. How do you wrestle people away from their television/Netflix/Facebook matrix long enough to get them to come to church?

Re: Happy Slaves :)
People are disillusioned with the system, working hard to get a degree so you can buy a home and live a middle class life has failed many:
*people in debt from college who can't get a job. *People have seen the real estate market crash, and the gvt bail out the banks *People have watched our health care/insurance system get destroyed *The rise of contract employment, with low wages and no benefits. People are turning away from the failed American dream and embracing a simpler life that eschews big houses, 70 hour work week, and mindless consumer spending. So, the rise of tiny houses, simple living, learning to grow your own food, disdain for agribusiness and big pharma. I would also dare to say that the mass drug known as the mega church is failing. People are hungry to something real, real relationships with real people who know a real God. Unless we can be the real deal, walking in the power and anointing of the Holy Ghost, we have nothing to offer. ********* I spent nearly 10 years of my life attending a mega apostolic church where the Pastor and his wife had no idea who I was. That can't be what the Jesus and his Apostles intended. |
