Anyway, I am strong on the issue of Christ as a MAN still in existence as a MAN. That is the reason we read THE MAN CHRIST JESUS is the mediator. Not was, but IS. And man is from the Greek ANTHROPOS, which means a human being. Jesus right now as a man is what Adam would have been with fruit of Life in his being and immortal had he not fallen. And is what we shall be.

Good stuff :) I think the humanity of Christ is something that isn't focused on enough.

I Strongly agree. Amen! :thumbsup.

The greatest area where this needs to be understood is in everyday life and victory over life's storms. The enemy would like us to not focus on it, since it removes the idea that we can never accomplish the things He actually said we can accomplish. He said the things He did shall we do. And so many stop and think that He is God in flesh, so how can we do those things. And they excuse themselves away due to a misunderstanding.

As a man HE HAD TO PRAY. He did not put that on as a mere example. That infant in the manger could not speak, as though he only pretended to gaga and googoo. He actually had to learn and increase in wisdom and even in FAVOUR WITH GOD.
Luke 2:52 KJV And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
And he even LEARNED OBEDIENCE!
Hebrews 5:8-9 KJV Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (9) And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
He was MADE PERFECT by His suffering.

All these things show us a genuine humanity that is a pathway for us to follow. And it even goes so far as a MAN came from the tomb in a glorified state that WE were intended to know as HUMANS had Adam never fallen. And that MAN still sits in the throne. And we are seated with Him.

He came down in incarnation in OUR LIKENESS for the sake of returning us to HIS LIKENESS. And that intrinsic union could only occur by manifested AS A HUMAN so that He could share our sins and die our death penalties. In this way, he delivered us from the state of sinfulness which removed us from His likeness. And still in union with us since HE WAS A HUMAN, He raised us up with Him to sit in heavenly places.

This is why He is seen as a LAMB in Rev 22 with GOD on the throne. Not two persons, but two manifestations STILL ongoing. That is because we could not be atoned for by coming into union with GOD AS GOD. God had to manifest in flesh since we are flesh. And that manifestation was that with which we came into union, and are still in union with.

And the ATONEMENT lamb is a picture of coming into AT-ONE-ment with Him so much so that His seating stands as our seating. Hence, we can say that through the Lamb's seating we are seated with Him in heavenly places.

His humanity really came into play through the story of Ruth. Ruth's husband died and she lost access to his land and name and all the wealth that went with it. She had to marry a kinsman who could redeem it all back to her. Similarly, God could not redeem man as God. He had to manifest in flesh to be humanity's KINSMAN.
Hebrews 2:14-15 GNB Since the children, as he calls them, are people of flesh and blood, Jesus himself became like them and shared their human nature. He did this so that through his death he might destroy the Devil, who has the power over death, (15) and in this way set free those who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death.

Philippians 2:7-9 GNB Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness. (8) He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death--- his death on the cross. (9) For this reason God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name.
And we got back the "land", or the dominion over the earth that Adam lost.
Hebrews 2:16 KJV For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
