January 7th 2008

Jan. the 7th we are having a special thanksgiving service to the Lord for 7 years of life He has given our grandson Gabriel. Some of you know he was born with a very serious heart problem and he doctors in Brazil gave him up to die after his first surgery...However 2 years ago he had surgery in the states and even though the doctors promised no miracle and confessed he was only alive by a miracle he turns 7 years old...

He is full of energy and starts 1st grade next month...May our God be forever praised.
By the way you folks are invited!

Passionately Pursuing Christ in every circumstance...

I rejoice with you sister in the life of your grandson. My oldest son was a miracle for my wife and I many years ago. Each day has been a wonderful blessing - though he of course just takes it with a shrug. (teenagers!)

Thank God for your Grandson's miracle and for 7 wonderful years.
May there be many more.

His mercies are new every day!

Praise his name Sis. Alvear. What a mighty God we serve. My youngest daughter a miracle having been twice healed. Once from menengitis and the seizures that followed for a few years after. God is good all the time, Amen.

Praise God for 7 years
and
praise God for whatever lies in the future.

We've so often wondered,
What do folks do that don't know the Lord?
How do they cope?
How do they face the cares and trials of life
without any invisible means of support?

He's one cute little guy!

Man, I would love to see that little guy again!! He just tore at my heart strings. Let him know that Eddie will be 49 on January 7th, and he is a miracle too. The doctors in Africa almost aborted him, because of danger to his mother's life. She refused to go through with it and they both are still alive today. She had to undergo some major surgery after he was born, but she was glad for the decision she made.

Also, he was asleep when he was a baby(in Liberia) and the Lord woke up his dad and told him to go get Eddie. There was a tarantula right beside him, ready to strike and his dad grabbed him by the ankles and jerked him out of bed. So, God spared his life twice!!
