Another good link to keep track of, for those election-watchers like myself...

RealClearPolitics.com 2008 National tracking poll.

Currently this poll has McCain leading by an average of 1.8 percentage points (averaging out several polls)

And to think, a few months ago I didn't even think there were any "John McCain fans!" He must have been putting a lot of work into the little things along the way like grassroots organizations.

And his repeated "repentance" for working with Teddy K. on that awful Illegal Alien Amnesty bill last year has helped. I figured he was dead in the water after that gaff.

And thanks for the links, TRFrance.

The conventional wisdom is, McCain will probably choose Huckabee as his running mate, to gather in the more conservative Republican side.

And if he wins, he'll probably choose Giuliani as either head of Homeland Security, or Attorney General.

Makes sense to me.
Sounds a lot better than President Hillary Clinton/Vice President Barack Obama

I'm not crazy about him either.

But what he has going for him is that:
1/ He's not Hillary
2/ He has a good chance to beat Hillary in a head-to-head matchup.

Speaking of which... how did you like Dole, Bush, and W on these issues??

They were no different than McCain on this stuff. It puzzles me that Rush and others "conservatives" could love "Dole" but dispise a McCain... (Who I also would'nt give a dime for).

well, we didnt know where GDub was on immagration until the last year or so, so that doesnt count.

we do know where GDub is on taxes and it is good.
we also know where he is on the supreme court....

G.SR, got a one time pass and got waxed because he wasnt what we are and Dole got what guys like this get so.............

Republicans loose when they run as democrats.

Look, if John wins the nomination, I will put on a happy face and talk him up and vote for him because he really isnt a communist. But that doesnt mean I will like it.
