Re: Baptismal Formula
A problem with this WHOLE debate is that people try being 'too smart by half'. They hang onto individual words (included it or not), singular or plural, "lord" or not..... Do you think that God would ........ someone to hell over such minutia?
On another note, I WAS baptized in Jesus name.... and would again (if for some weird reason it was required), and tell others to as well. But all things being equal, if I were to walk up to someone (who knew my dad) and told them "I come in my dads name", they are going to know who I am talking about. In ancient times, if a messenger came to a village and said "I come in the name of the king!", would the villagers not know? Does JESUS not know? So many are so quick to put people into hell over this.... |
