Does God ever abandon a city or town???
Here is the scriptural basis for my question:
I know that any person can be saved anywhere, anytime as long as they completely obey the Word of God and its plan for salvation.... my question is in the context of a city/town where God has called a preacher to be a beacon of light; will God ever abandon a city or town and pull His preacher out leaving it with noone??? Through the years, I have heard of smaller cities/towns being completely abandoned when a pastor would feel "called" elsewhere and noone else would come to fill the gap.... will God ever abandon a city/town to its own wickedness or will He always call another preacher to come and fill the vacancy??? any thoughts??? |
This is an interesting question.
One thing I am thinking right now is that God through his great commission has given unto us the command to go into the whole world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Another thing is this, their may be times, or seasons when an area may be ripe for revival, more than at other times. A man of God may go somewhere and not see any fruit of his labours, but then leave. Some other man may come after him and build a great work. |

they are both statements that Christ gave the entire Church.... so why aren't there churches of truth in every city, town and village??? Because people choose not to go, thus those obedient to the Great Commission are not in as great of a number as it should be.... so can it be that God picks and chooses how to use His willing vessels, placing them in strategic places/times which best suite His will??? |
just food for thought... I'm not actually making any pointed statements regarding this....
