We tried something last week that was overwhelming successful. A live online bible study using Yahoo Messenger. We are going with it again tonight at 7:30 PST.

We had folks from Toronto, Winnipeg, Minnesota and here in California online with us as we taught last Friday night through the CONFERENCE service. A brother copied and pasted the scriptures we used on the text portion of the messenger as I taught, while I had my webcam beamed on me to teach. We felt the Holy Ghost so powerfully. What a blessing.

I recommend churches to try and utilize this great tool of ministry and outreach. I am sure others have been doing this for ages, but we just started and it works!

Is it via your built in web cam or are you using your own video camera?

Just my $30 webcam. But Logitech makes a great quality video picture!

do you type as you go or cut and paste a previous Bible study?

I emailed to everyone involved an outline with fill-in-the-blanks for them to print and use. I was considering sending the outline via email as well. But I used a webcam with voice for all to see and hear. People do not require a webcam to hear and view me as I teach. So, all that we copied and pasted were the scriptures.

It is great because folks can ask questions afterwards and we can interact with answers.
